Has anyone mounted the RSX in a b5m? My issue is i am using the 461 rx. Bigger receiver than others. I don't think i will be able to mouth that esc in there with the cap. Any Ideas? Also i read the whole thread and it seems that no one is running the fan. i will be running a 7.5 gen2 in there, 78/21. i am just nervous to run the cap over the fins ...

The team is testing it now over the weekend. Barring any bugs or install problems(none so far as they've all been texting me how awesome it is) it should be public released IF all goes well, next week.
TIck tock...watching the clock for the new app |
As "The Prez" mentioned on facebook the other day, the team is testing it now. So far no bugs or issues found. Stay tuned.

I just purchased the RSX / Tekin 6.5 combo from Stormer (it's back ordered though) and wondered if anyone else running this set up in an XB4 and has any words of wisdom or install tips or tricks I should consider? Any pics would be appreciated as well.
:D Thanks, |
Hopefully they won't be out of stock for too much longer? getting anxious to get my XB4 going :tire:
|
Still waiting on the new RSX ESC & Motor to hopefully make it by this Sat (last indoor at my Track). I was hoping to see a bit more activity in here and get some tips and tricks, but it appears all the RSX owners are too busy driving :tire:
|
I soldered everything up and was disapointed with my ESC and wiring layout,I took a break and did some online research and found that Randy Pike has a how to write up with pictures of an RSX in an XB4. I'm very happy I resoldered my wires and copied his set up  and was even more impressed when I drove it down the road, thing flies :tire::eek::tire:

How much of a upgrade is this over the Rs gen 1
|
It's not. It's an upgrade over an rs pro. Runs much cooler with low turn motors.
|
I have a Gen 1 Rs , is it worth replacing it with a Rsx ?
|
The throttle feel of the RSX is wayyyyyyyyyyy better.
|
Some one have the dimensions of the fan? Mine is broken from the factory and I can not find anywhere (tower, amain). The # is TT3833, if some one know a decent replacement fan, I would like to know. My esc came back at 145 and motor 120 after 7-8 minutes running no fan with timing profile #2 everything else is stock and a tekin redline gen2 6.5T. I think I need a fan on my RSX.

Hit me up with a copy of your receipt and your shipping info, a pic of the fan. I'll make sure you get a new one. If those temps are accurate, you're not going to need one. But you deserve to have a working one regardless. |
Anyone have any gearing advice to start with for a sm/med indoor 70-80' straight for an XB4 running the RSX / 6.5T combo, I'm not sure what a good starting baseline is.
|
18-19 Tooth stock spur. I was running dual mode with 25 on the Timing Advance.
|
Running an RSX with Tekin Gen 2 5.5 in my 22-4 and looking for a starting point for setups. I've searched on RC tech and Tekin's website and can't locate a starting set up for this combo and this car. TIA!!

Noticed though that one of the fan blades is snapped off..I think this added to the heat as the fan was unbalanced and must have stressed the bearing, generating heat... The dimensions are 7x23mm.... Bygone know where I could get a fan this size that will sit on the rsx???? |
Sorry for such noob questions~ I've never had to solder on a cap before.
1: Do I need to insulate the cap's wires at all if I solder them on the top of the post and run the cap to the bottom? (where the wire may touch the PCB.) 2: with this wire layout should I maybe just put the cap on my battery leads and just use some heat shink tube to keep it in place? 3: should I maybe get a different cap that I could run a wire around to the front side of the RSX? Thanks~ Ben PS. How's the build treating Jeremy Potter?? http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...psgvo1axma.jpg |

Same thing happen yesterday, I run my car 7 minute non stop, the speed was at 147, the motor was around at 120. My gearing is 18T with a 84 spur in my TLR 22-4, esc is on factory setting no fan. One guy at the track is running the same combo as me and his speed is never going up 120 in a b44.2. I am wondering if my esc is having a problem and I should send it back to tekin in a RMA? I have my esc since 23 february.

When you say the other guy setup is the same, is everything the same?
Same speedo, same motor (turns, rotor, timing, brand), identical gearing, and same amount of airflow to the RSX? I'm not sure 147 is that alarmingly hot - gearing and airflow, etc maybe the difference. |

Randy or someone from Tekin, I have a B5M, not a lot of room for electronics. I am not running a fan. Can the capacitor be mounted forward like on the RS gen2?
And if anyone has pics of there seteup post them please. |

He have the same combo RSX/6.5T in a b44.2. Maybe I should wait to receive a fan from tekin. Sorry if I sound a bit paranoiac about my RSX, at the price I paid it, I am sure you guys understand.
Looking at the manual for example, the ESC has 7 on board temp steps. you're only at 3 of 7... Looks like the safety thermal shutoff isn't until 220F. |

No worries. I understand. I don't think you're at any risky point. Are you running any ESC timing?

You got some thin gauge wire on that setup. Not saying it is wrong but thinner then what we typically see. Is that 14g?
|
Looks like it...14awg can be ok in 2wd mod but keep an eye on the temp of the wire after a run...
