no release date, factory drivers of course doing a larger test at worlds,if i guess i would say team drivers may get emails regarding them in a few months but that's a guess

What is the thought on the sensor wire being located behind and under the posts? All of my dislike for LRP centers around the same concept.

I wish I could just run an RS. I can't though because of my 6.5 motor. Tekin has NOTHING available for me(and many others) and that just isn't good. How many people will just go out and buy a different brand to have a temporary esc just so they can drive/race their car NOW? Many people will be satisfied with the performance and then lose all motivation to spend the money on the RSX when it finally comes out. Those are lost customers for Tekin whether they care or not. I support Tekin and their great products but this is twice now that my builds have sat for months waiting on them. No old stock and nothing coming anytime soon. It's extremely frustrating for those who support them and want to run their product. ESPECIALLY when they refuse to let us know when we might be able to finally run our car.

$10 more in price than a new RX8 Gen2. Wow.

BRSracing 09-27-2013 06:17 PM

Ty has hinted that it will be soon after the worlds that it is released. It has been in testing for a year and a half so I am confident it will be very soon. Randy has also said that it will be out by the years end. I am sure the Tekin crew is busy this weekend, next week we will likely hear more.

ntJeff 09-27-2013 06:18 PM

I have an LRP Flow also, it's been with LRP for repairs for two weeks with crappy communication. No clue when I'll have it back.

I like the Hotwire interface, and from what I've heard, Tekin has awesome service.

I'm really excited for this ESC, I just want a rough estimate of when it'll become available. I have dollas.

BRSracing 09-27-2013 06:27 PM

The release says its based off the RS Gen 2, I have it and it works really well. The brakes are awesome throttle feel is top notch. I sent a RS in for work a couple years ago, I paid extra to get two day shipping, and had it back in about one week. If you need customer service there is none better.

ntJeff 09-27-2013 06:40 PM

LRP was very fast to respond to emails before I sent my speedo in, but since they've had it, very slow/no updates. They're "waiting on inventory" was rhe last I heard 4 days ago.

Anyway, can't wait for this esc.

Randy_Pike 09-27-2013 11:42 PM

The Pro2 will work on the RSX. They critical factor will be the model/car weight. Keeping in line with the 4lb car limit an RSX and Pro2 in a 2wd will work just fine.

The team is all running the RSX this week at worlds. Any ETA info will be shared after the event is over. What you see in all the media coverage is production unit save for some fan shroud parts.

I'll share some data logs of their performance once I get the thumbs up from the boss if some of you are interested to see where Lutz, JR Mitch and the rest of the team is running temp wise. FYI, both of those guys are using 5.5's in 4wd mod buggy.

As always team drivers will get this equipment before public release so if you have a team driver check out his/her car as most will be getting them shortly after Worlds.

Whats the "Worlds Kit" (TT3833) listed in the manual? Is it the same fan and shroud that comes with the RSX just sold separate? Or is it different somehow?

It will be a 10mm thick fan, new spacers and screws to work with the existing shroud. Stock fan is 7mm.

Odin544 09-30-2013 06:12 PM

How did the ESC's perform at worlds? Was this a final test? ;)

SH 09-30-2013 06:22 PM

They seem to perform brilliant! Lutz's looked pacey & smooth.

Worlds Performance

Thanks guys,
The RSX was amazing for me at the Worlds. Tekin has done their homework on this one and the RSX is a first class Speed Control! Smooth power delivery, cool temperatures all weekend, and flawless performance. That about sums up my experience with the new RSX! Can't wait for it to be released so everyone can begin enjoying it!

That's where he lives currently, yes.

I was extremely happy with the RSX this weekend. The performance was awesome, temperatures were very cool and the team had nothing but good things to say about them.

bet ya they are waiting for the Holiday rush..

mojoman81 10-02-2013 12:24 PM

What exactly does the data logging consist of ?

TY@TEAMTEKIN 10-02-2013 12:27 PM

The datalogging lets you see motor temps, battery voltage, throttle position, motor RPM and ESC temp. You can record what you want to see and save runs for viewing later. Really handy for dialing in a setup.

Ok I have kind of a stupid question I'm building my new 22 2.0 and will be switching between 17.5 and 8.5, I know the RS gen 2 has an 8.5 limit, I was wondering if going to the RSX would give me any proformance advantage? My RS gen 1 got a little warm at my local track with my 17.5 in it is the only reason I'm asking.

BIGSKI15 10-03-2013 04:40 AM

Im using the gen 1 Tekin rs with a Reedy sonic 8.0 and I don't have any temp issues at all. On a side note, I have to have the esc in my car...haha

You shouldn't have any heat issues with a 17.5 in a 2wd buggy. What were you geared at and how long were you running?

The Gen 2 should do fine with a buggy running 17.5-8.5 no problem. It might get a little warm running the 8.5 but nothing even close to hot if running properly. I run the RS GEN 2 with my 22SCT and an 8.5 with a little boost and it runs all day with only 3-4 lights on the onboard thermal sensor. With a lighter buggy the ESC will have no problem at all.

+1
Im thinking you are geared wrong if the ESC is hot running a 17.5, or the bearings in the car or the motor need replaced. also, check the drive line for binding, sometimes you can over tighten the wheel nuts and it will cause binding in the axle/housing if there are no crush sleeves in the hub. Or excessive drag brake in the ESC.

jsrocket13 10-03-2013 01:31 PM

The drivetrain is free it was the first night on my 22 I was geared at a 30-76 with a D3.5, but I think I ran about 6 mins nonstop and haven't cut out the vent for the speedo.

Casper 10-03-2013 02:25 PM

How many lights you have on the speedo. With stock it should be bearly warm.

jsrocket13 10-03-2013 03:18 PM

Just the 3 I have the lastest software in my RS gen 1 and locked to blinky because it was in my 12th oval car but I will say it was a fairly warm day where I live for the time of year about 85.

Not even warm then. Get it to 6 lights and we will need to figure out what is going on! ;)

Not yet. The only drivers that Im aware of having them is those who attended the Worlds last weekend. I'm anxiously waiting though.:D

Giving some thoughts to the new HB Wheeler and think this may be the ESC of choice, I plan to for the most part just run an 7.5 - 8.5, but I also have in the "garage" a pro2 5800 that I like to run in my 22 SCT. If I were to for some reason re-purpose that motor into a 1:10 Wheeler would this ESC be happy about that or not happy about that? Because every now and then you just have to drive it at maniac speeds.
