When does the app come out for the tablets and phones?

:)

1967Typhoon 09-26-2013 01:29 PM

How did you get the weight so low? It looks so beefed up compared to the RS series.

Hoese37 09-26-2013 01:35 PM

And everyone made a joke about it being released with the new TLR 4wd buggy...

DBARB 09-26-2013 01:37 PM

^^^^^^ Haha

spunkysandoval 09-26-2013 01:44 PM

Will it handle 4 pole motors?

ImageX 09-26-2013 02:18 PM

When will the RSX start shipping?

It's not rated for 4-pole motors or a chassis weighing more than 4lbs in race applications. The only weight exceptions are crawlers and scale trucks and only motor exceptions are the ROC412 in crawler applications for the time being.

spu83 09-26-2013 02:35 PM

Does it come with the fan or fan kit is option ?
Never mind saw it on the website fan is optional.

nickdawg18 09-26-2013 02:40 PM

Is it bigger then the RS?

Sounds like an invitation for some independent testing ;)

Odin544 09-26-2013 03:14 PM

I believe it was stated in the Pro2 thread that something was in the pipeline for the Pro2/lighter weight 4pole esc. Since this obviously isn't that, if there still plans for something of an 'RX8 lite'?

That's kinda interesting seeing this. On the back of the Pro-2 packaging it states " Designed for use with Tekin's RSX adn RX8 ESC". Why the change?

Randy_Pike 09-26-2013 10:43 PM

The weight of the model is a very critical factor here.

This esc was purposely designed for 1/10 mod racing ala 1/10 2wd buggy, 1/10 4wd buggy, 1/10 TC , 1/12 , 1/10 2wd SC, etc.

4wd SC should be equipped with an Rx8 :)

bergie33 09-26-2013 10:54 PM

If I am only running a 10.5t in 4wd buggy, is there any need for the RSX over the Gen2 RS? I don't ever see me running an 8.5t, let alone something below that. Are there any additional gains to be seen?

UK.hardcore 09-27-2013 01:55 AM

Dimensions: 1.21 x 1.43 x .82in (25.4 x 33 x 12.9mm)

so, how about that, it shrinks when you use the metric system? :D

That's ok.... we all need to keep asking. They are answering everything but a release date. Come on, Tekin....you knew we would be asking this!

Laurila 09-27-2013 07:06 AM

Hotwire App for Android

So when they tell us how much it will cost and the release date.... They could throw in when they will release the app to use hotwire on android..... Thats the only thing holding me back. I dont want to drag a laptop to the track. Guess I am lazy.

spu83 09-27-2013 07:21 AM

Will the android app work on the RS-PRO ?

Cptn Cartwheel 09-27-2013 07:22 AM

And wireless programming with the app, done over wifi, synced to your phone.:batman:

boudin4evr 09-27-2013 07:44 AM

im with you on dragging laptops to races
BUT
I have Mac book pro
I dont want it around dusty environemts AND
other peoples sticky hands(theft) (and Macs run windows also)if they steal a pc it's
oh well its a pc a Mac on the other hand is $$$$
I just bought a friends laptop he was strapped for cash
50 bucks! I felt bad and gave him 75
VRC Pro is also fun to play while waiting at these long ass 45 minute to an hour nitro races! It also REALLY sucks if youre stuck marshaling for those!
back on topic, who can we (racers) email at apple to look back into letting iphone control
esc setups?
tell Apple it's a game! lol then they will be all over it! there are millions of useless apps
out there! It's hard to find the people that care at APPLE to send email to!
Pass the email address along TEKIN!

BIGSKI15 09-27-2013 07:46 AM

in another thread regarding the RSX, Tekin tested several cheap tablets that are compatible with the esc. The iview being one of them which only costs 40 from walmart.

Apple is the 6th biggest company in the US and they know what's up. An app or game is entirely different than allowing connectivity to an external device/controller. It just isn't going to happen. Part of the reason that iOS devices run so smooth is because they are so secure. 5 billion emails wouldn't change that. Us Apple users are 100% tough out of luck. A cheap Android tablet(or an expensive Windows version) is our only solution.

ntJeff 09-27-2013 01:07 PM

Did I miss the release date, or is it still unknown?

It was stated in another thread that when released the app would work on the rs, rspro, and rx8 as well. It will not be exclusive to the rsx. Also it will still use the same hotwire.

b_recliner 09-27-2013 01:49 PM

what's the release date on this one?

I can assure you that pestering them for a date over and over wont get it on the shelf any sooner. They want us to have it as much or more than we want it. They wont release it until they are 100% satisfied with the end product. I'm okay with that because I dont want a sub par product.

I only asked because I didn't see your post. They are close though, otherwise they would not have released so much info.

UK.hardcore 09-27-2013 02:09 PM

Rather have one in december that doesn't blow up then have now but blow it up. :D

People need to know when a product is coming to plan builds accordingly or move on to other manufacturers if it's going to be any length of time. That or just have a dead car and a mystery running date. It isn't about rushing a product to shelves. It might be different if one could just go down to the LHS and pick up a RS Pro but that isn't possible because stock is depleted. It's the RX8 issue all over again. I guess if you want to run the best.... you have no choice but to wait with no known date..... again.

ntJeff 09-27-2013 02:49 PM

I only ask because I'm in the market for a new ESc, and I like my old rs.
