Any body have a problem with their rsx cutting of during run time...not at voltege cut off? my rsx has bee shutting off on me then cuts back on.I might get a lap or close to then it does the same thing again. Thought it was battery connection but tried another and same thing. It does this after about 5 min of run time! Is their a setting im missing or something because I only had it a month with not very much run or over heated. I did some basic setups with my hot wire which is an older one.

Try dropping a tooth and going to 71/30, can timing at 25. 170 after a full race "pull" is fine. But I think trying my changes may help get you the power you're looking for without creating more heat.
Use the data logger. I've been finding so many guys overgeared trying to get speed that they're bogging the whole car down....I know it can sound crazy at first but the acceleration "curve" with the super tall gearing is a goof up. REALLY review that data log How to we posted. http://www.teamtekin.com/datalogging.html Mid motor cars also have more drag and drivetrain wrap to push with the 2nd gear and all the weight.... Rp |

Where is your LVC set? |

I did not have a 71 spur so I went with 72 30. Car came off the track at 180 using a temp gun on the can. Data logger had it at 217. Changed gearing to 76 28 next round. Came off at 154 temp gun on can 179 on data logger. Should I be using outer can temp or data logger temp for getting it setup? I have heard both ways.
How were your lap times between the two? |

The data logger is more accurate but will read higher than a traditional "can" temp will, just bear that in mind. Nothing wrong with comparing the can temp to "other" drivers.

Randy, is there a guideline temp for data logger temp? I believe (but could be wrong), most say not going beyond 180 for can temp. Is there a temp you recommend from the logger.
So figure 210 or lower. Again this is on OUR Tekin Gen2 motors. I'm not going to vouch for another mfg's sensor accuracy, etc. |

Sure during the run you'll get some heat fade as well as voltage drop..so yes some fade is normal.
|
Decided to start using the data logging function for vitals so I deleted all logged data today before doing some practice laps and after going through some packs, I went to check the data log but it was empty.
I saved my esc settings and did a factory reset, uploaded my settings back up and re-calibrated radio. Did a test run and it seems to be all good. Has anyone else had data log not record? |
If you JUST updated your esc software it's always nice to do a factory reset on the unit then install your settings, etc. Sometimes the memory can get clouded up a bit causing an erratic operation. The factory reset clears it all.
You did the right thing. |

Could someone explain Active Brake, Push Control and Throttle Min settings on the Android App for my RSX?

Push Control is opposite of Drag Brake, rather it "pushes" the car when you let off the throttle by still applying a little throttle in neutral, making the car roll more free. Throttle Minimum is the slowest the motor will turn with the least amount of throttle applied. The lower the number the slower your car will crawl. |

Active Brake has different levels of immediate brake "lock-up" power. 1-3 are for offroad, 4-6 are stronger for onroad.

Finally got my XB4 on the track with the RSX/redline 6.5 combo and it is very impressive. Very smooth & Very Fast setup

Anyone know where to find replacement fans for the RSX? I have had mine for a while in my 44.2 and the other day when I brought it in I noticed it was making a noise. Something must have hit the blades or something because several are broken. Anywho, I have searched all over and can't find the replacements anywhere online or at the LHS. Are they even for sale? TIA!
|
New car. Old problem.
Can the rsx handle a hitec 7955tg? I've got a pretty serious glitch/studder issue going on. Its only in the servo and is a constant high frequency flutter. Had to install a castle 10amp bec on an older buggy w this servo. Have not tried turning the rsx output voltage to 7.4 yet. What do ya think Randy? |
Nevermind... so over HiTec servos. Swapped it out for a Savox and it's perfect.

RSX sensor issue maybe?
Hi Randy
I bought a new RSX a couple of months back for our national champs. From the first time used the drive train seemed noise. I removed the motor from the car to test. Seems the motor is missing or arcing throughout the rev range but mainly from mid to 3/4 throttle. Performance seems fine, however generates more motor heat than expected. I have tried other motors and sensor cables but have the same result. No issue if the sensor cable is unplugged. The speedo programs as it should and all lights look to be doing the correct thing. Using RSX speedo, Reedy Sonic 2 6.5t and then a Sonic 1 6.5t, Running TP 2 or C1. Car is a B44.2. I have only used RS pro's previously and are fine. The speedo has only been run for the one meeting. Cheers for the help Regard, Mark |
I have 1 gen1 rs and 3 rs pros. I was only going to upgrade them when I blew up one, which I did today only because I used an rs to power a reedy sonic Mach 2 8 turn.
My question is, is the rsx noticeably smoother than the gen 1 rs/rs pro esc's? |

I just Bought and installed my rsx into my b5m today while at the track. I feel that it was a big upgrade from the rs pro. More power, the brakes are smoother and quieter. Completely happy with my purchase.
I've only been Into to rc for two years and this was my fifth tekin esc total without any issues other than using an rs to power my 8t which consequently led to it's demise. |
Hmm, just last week I got my RSX from a well known vendor in Hong Kong, yesterday the fan controller stopped working and the ESC went into thermal shutdown with 7 flashing LEDs with the fan set to Auto.
When I got home, I tried switching the fan to 'always on' to no avail, no spinning fan. I have tested the fan with another ESC and the fan itself works fine. Tried doing a factory reset by holding the Mode and Inc buttons but still no spinning fan... Anyone got any good ideas on how to get this working again? Hotwire works fine so the posts are obviously still working and connected to something inside the ESC so it feels like a software issue but who knows... Running version 250. |

I doubt this is a software issue. If the fan works on another esc make sure you have it plugged into the esc with the correct polarity on the plug.

Cheers for the help Regard, Mark IF that's ok, the fact the motors run fine sensorless but have issues sensored would lead me to believe the sensor port on the esc isn't working properly since you've used it on more than one motor and more than one sensor harness, correct? If the above are both true, contact support for an RMA# and get that RSX sent in for inspection. |

Hmm okay, guess I have to check with the vendor then. I'll just have to consider the cost of return shipping etc. Of course, of all my ESCs the most expensive one had to have a problem :p.
IF you have an issue still, contact support so they can discuss options. Depending on where you live, there are two places to send it for repair. |

I'm referring to the fan port as the "plug" by the way.

I presume it's supposed to be "black out" for the fan as well, hooked up according to this the color manual on teamtekin . com. I'll get in contact with support, thank you again! I'm in europe by the way. |
