While its out for repair, order a hotwire. |
Figured as much. Should I remove the wires or leave them soldered on?

i am having the same issue as the guy with the 3.0, i am running an et48 with the 1900 gen 2 combo 15t pinion and the esc shuts down after 3 min of running. all the temps are fine esc 118 and the motor is only 100. temps are from the hot wire, i get the 1 4 and 7 leds and it makes sounds like it is trying to arm again. everything is brand new. lol and this is my first tekin esc. is there anything i can check or do

Mine too! First race day, 300 mile round trip, and the sacrifices I had to go through to run on Mothers day! LOL I got 2 packs in practice with out a problem. First qual, in the lead, dead after 2/3 min. Quick bench tune, round 2, again........... not too pleased. I had plans to run at our local track which is 5min from my house this Sunday, squashed!! Really hope this doesn't happen again or I'm just gonna dump runnin Tekin speedos all together.

Randy, I have a older X ray 808E that I am racing with a 2050 and a gen2 rx8. The buggy has 4:30 diffs and a 42 spur . I am thinking I need to be around a 19t pinon , sound about right ?

Yup good place to start.
This worked out well I think . Esc was flashing 3 leds for temp , but my motor got as high as 180 after a full pack , about 15 minutes . I think I recall you saying this was fine ? Thanks for being on the forums , I know you must get sick of the same stuff over and over for years .... |
Nothing to get sick over. There's a lot of guys that race and it's always nice to have somewhere to go to get the right info from the start.
If anyone is having an issue with your Tekin esc hit us up: [email protected] We also have our Live Chat service on the main page: www.teamtekin.com |
If your RX8gen2 unit flashes leds 1,4,7 please send it in for repair.
When the unit temp is around 3 leds it will start flashing leds 1,4,7. This may happen a few times and reset or in some cases continue this loop until the unit is turned off and back on. There is simply a misloaded component on the control board causing this condition. We apologize to those few that have gotten these units. We caught the mistake pretty early, but some units did get out the door before we were aware of it. Please make sure the unit is not actually flashing 1,3,5 indicating voltage cutoff. Again this error code will typically show up about 3 min into a run when the unit gets to about 3leds of temp. Please fill out the service form on our website and include it with the unit. Clearly mark that it is a 1,4,7 error code and we will fix it up and get it back to you quickly. Thank you for understanding. Things happen.... All we can do is react quickly and make it right so everyone can get back to Racin! Jim Campbell President Tekin, Inc. |
