That's strange, never had that happen. Maybe Randy has seen that before.
You don't need the 2.0, either will work. Maybe remove program from your computer and download it fresh. |

hey guys, do I need to have the hotwire 2.0 for the newest update (v10.2)to work? I downloaded and installed the v10.2 on my laptop but when I connected my ESC last night it didn't prompt me for any updates or anything and it still said I was using the old version I had before. I re-downloaded it and installed again and tried a second time. What am I missing? It should ask if I want to go to Vegas 250, right?

Which esc is it you're trying to update?

You need to go to the "advanced settings" menu to see the firmware versions available.

I know this, my problem is hotwire is not letting me click on the advanced tab to do so.

RX8 Gen2, I have two and tried both of them last night and same thing with both.
Plug in ONLY the Hotwire. Launch the application, hit the "help" button and post the version. |
Can anyone explain why my GenII RX8 is shuttin down after about 3min of running? It flashes 3 led's, the first one, the last one, and one in the middle some were. I'm running it in the TLR 8ight E 3.0 with the Tekin 1900kv motor, the Trinity 6950 100c 4s, my gearing is 43/15. The motor and speedo are both under 100° when it does it too.

Its happening to a buddy of mine too, same exact problem. If I can get it to do it again, I'll pay closer attention to the exact led configuration it is. I've run it around my yard, no issue, ran it at a local track, no issue, drive 200 miles for a race that I got special permission from the wifey to go to( Mothers day!) and dead in the water after 2/3 min! Very disappointed!

Are you using 250 software on this unit? |
Its right outa the box. I calibrated it to my M11X, set my end points, and ran it to make sure it worked. At the track we set LVC to 4s and took timing OUT from default. My gearing is right on the money and double checked my drive train. There is no explanation. Later today, I'll run it around my yard and see if I can get it to shut down so I can get you the exact LED's that are lit and an accurate temp of both the speedo and motor.

1-4-7 is the LED sequence. I can't data log cause I Don't own a hotwire. My buddy had the 4 digit death code on his. My battery was only down to 80% speedo was 110° and the motor was 95°.

That's not a trouble code, find someone with a hotwire or buy one and update the ESC. Your a couple updates behind and for whatever reason the older firmware seems to be causing what your dealing with from what I've seen in the Tekin threads.
IMO you really need the hotwire for this ESC. You want to be able to stay current with the updates to have the latest firmware and the improvements that go with it. It's kind of like buying a Subaru without a turbo  You can use pit tune buttons but you are moving in large blocks instead of 1/100's and some options in hotwire just are not available in pit tune. Get a hotwire somehow and update :tire: |

That esc needs to come home. |
