Well I finally got a response from Jerry and it sounds like the only option they'll give me is to ship a new mainboard for $70+. I'd rather just buy a new transmitter, so I spoke with hobbypartz, but they informed me that they can't guarantee I'd get the most recent version of the radio which has the re-binding issue fixed. I don't want to throw another $140 down the toilet, so does anybody know where I can reliably get the "second generation" one with the functional re-binding?
|
I originally failed too but not as badly as you. I had one of the pads lift during disassembly and another one actually broke, I simply patted the one down and then soldered the chip to it. The broken one had just enough pad left for it to connect to.
Over all it was a shitty experience but the radio is working. Your best bet might be to take it to an electronics shop. They can probably salvage it by adding in jumpers or some such thing. |
Does anyone know where i can get a replacement screen for the controller?
|
My expense with trying to get parts for this transmitter is that it's only possible from FlySky itself in China, and they'll charge you an arm and a leg for 'em. You can try contacting [email protected] though -he's the only one I was able to get responses from.
On another note, after destroying my IT4 while trying to replace the chip, I ended up just getting a new one from Amazon. Hobbypartz couldn't tell me if they had the updated version and I'd heard from two sources that the ones from Amazon were the updated version so I took the risk and it paid off! It's the orange one that I'm not thrilled with, but it binds and re-binds like nobody's business. I'd venture to say this is the most feature-rich pistol grip radio on the market at any price. So easy to setup for multiple models and 4ws on crawlers (sure wish it had a 3 position switch though). |
So over on URC one of the guys said they were able to get their FS-GR3C bound to the iT4 with no problems. So I decided to order a few of them to use on my models that I don't really need telemetry on.
So I ended up receiving 2 FS-GR3E receivers instead of the FS-GR3C and it doesn't seem to be binding to them properly. ARRRGGGHhHHhh... I tried it 2 different ways- First with the AFHDS2 off, bind plug installed in Channel 3. When I select bind with receiver the light on the receiver will go from blinking to solid yet the radio doesn't acknowledge anything has happened. Next I tried it with AFHDS2 on. Same steps yet when going into bind mode with the radio the receiver light continues to blink and again the radio doesn't acknowledge... Has anyone tried to bind with the newer FS-GR3E receivers? IIRC they are the receivers that come with the FS-GT3C... Now I could go through the trouble of tracking down another FS-GR3C receiver and testing it out but I mean what the heck? This should work. Anyway I have emailed Jerry again. Hopefully he responds before I get fed up to the point of just selling the damned thing. Anyone who wants it PM me offers. It will come with an assortment of sensors (all stock sensors and an extra thermal sensor) and 2 FS-IR4 receivers. Mike |
Alright, no reply from FS yet.
If anyone want's mine shoot me a PM. I'm looking to get @$120 shipped for it. It has the new chip installed and can bind to multiple FS-iR4 receivers no problem. It will come with everything they come with new (box, sensors, extra grip etc), 2 FS-iR4 receivers and an extra temp sensor. The color is a mix between silver and goldish. You can kind of see the trim color here: http://i.imgur.com/NAlMRdul.jpg And here: http://i.imgur.com/8dOKmHml.jpg All the surfaces on the remote still have the plastic on them except the screen. The screen is in good shape. It shows a bit of wear from normal use but nothing bad. I can snap pictures of it if anyone is interested. Shoot me a PM! I'll be listing it in the FS section this evening. Mike |
Hi all,
Ok, I messed up. I applied this version 1.02us firmware that is out in the wild and it just messed up my brand new Radio. Its my fault for even trying this. I usually make backups before I do this kind of stuff bur could not see how to do that. I'm now stuck with an unusable radio. Does anyone know how to get the original firmware for the FlySky FS-it4 Radio version 1.01us? Otherwise I have a door stop. This was totally my fault for not being extra cautious. Thank you for help, I'm desperate at this point. Rob |
Where did you download the 1.02 version from?
It is the latests version number and if you got it off a google docs link it is probably legit. What happened? |

No ch3 response on new radio
I just got the IT4 a few days ago. I'm setting up a SuperBee on my Rampage MT. Following a youtube setup video, it programs ch3 to work with the kill switch. For some reason I don't get any indication that ch3 even works. I can program ch4 to do what I need but ch3 seems dead. Is there any kind of reset?
Follow up Edit: Found the problem. Some reason my steering mix was set to dual, changed it to standard and everything is working as expected. Yes there is a reset under the system menu. |
If any one is looking for the FS-iT4 IC and UPD change here is the manual link
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1mg9h0la Also don't sell this awesome radio because you have to rebind every vehicle sporting your iR4 Rx, just request a IC chip, E-Mail Serena at [email protected] and let her know this binding issue and will promptly send a replacement! She shipped it DHL Express Shipping from Hong Kong, Saturday 08/22/14 and will be here Monday 08/25/14  Will post a video install and detailed instructions. :D |

Though i have yet to hold it in my hands, I'm worried about quality and feel of the remote, weather it can be changed to Left or Right hand operation, & (probably dumb to ask) If that REALLY CHEAP "Vroom Vroom" noise can be taken off the remote. I have already pre-ordered a Futaba 4PX, but i might still get this controller for tinkering around with my 1/10 nitro trucks. Pretty much from what I've seen on youtube and been reading on here. If Flysky took that little extra nudge towards better Quality Control, and a Little nudge better than fake toy car sound effects.. This controller could possibly be a great contender for the Big Dawgs.. RadioPost almost did it. BUT, fell off on their quality control and WAY OFF on their customer service. Couldn't meet supply and demand.. now??? Don't really see anyone hardly run them anymore (controller that is) RadioPost controllers go for chump change now, and aren't really considered or revered like they were when they came outta the gate... FlySky could do it "if" they put foot to ass....:sneaky: |
Haven't purchased yet but got a hold of jerry and think he's sending out the chip soon. So I should have the chip and radio around the same time I believe. Hope I didn't make a mistake.

Does this controller actually have a faster response time/framerate/latency compared to the GT3B? I know in specs it says it is 5ms but has anyone actually tested compared to the GT3B. I liked the GT3B it was just too slow for racing.
Is the wheel and trigger resistance adjustable? |
