If inboard, did you install fresh solid bullets plugs? Or your using months old plugs?

Just asking so you don't melt the case on the other pack.
They are new I guess I should probably mention that my daily job is a master electrician before I get asked a bunch of "are you a dummy" questions

That eliminates that.
A lot of smart people don't change out bullets frequently enough, was just asking

Default smc

Hello guys, the 5100 40c worked great tonight, (Saturday night) in a 6 minute heat I used 2581 mah. I use a tekin gen1 rx8 an 1900kv motor. I am very happy with the 5100 Smc lipo!!!!
I have not charged the pack after the 8min main but I will in the morning to see what I had used.
But I will be getting 1 more pack of the 5100 and wait on the new 4600.

I would leave the battery as it is. Charge it again before you use it next. Its not good to let it sit fully charged for more than a day or two.

Got my SMC 5100's Friday.
Install ec5 connectors and heading for the track.
My Hyperior charger showed internal resistance as low as 3 and as high as 4, Reedy's are usually 4 to 6.
I let them cool between charges and balance charge them every time.
They balanced very quickly.
I loaned them to our local fast guy "Smiley", he commented how punchy they are, thanks SMC for a great product at a resonable cost.

Bought a couple SMC 70c 2S packs and a 7.5T motor.

Been racing for years, I've run all kinds of brands, from reasonable to high end.

The SMC packs are on-par or better than the orange cased brand "T" packs that are rated 100C. My "T" packs don't perform the same... the SMC's do and they've got better punch through the run and don't drop off.

The SMC 7.5T motor is really a gem. Nice quality case, obviously mfg. by a reputable company and extremely similar in construction to another "name brand" motor that sells for twice the price. Compared to my Orion VST, the SMC performs nearly identical, but comes on slightly harder in the low end. The Orion is ultimately a bit smoother down low, but the SMC is a little quicker transitional torque through the midrange. The SMC is really a performer for the price point as long as it can prove itself to be durable.

I'm not sponsored and I don't come on here and write a review unless a product has really impressed me to be a quality item that performs top notch. The SMC packs and motor should put some other companies on notice.

I'd like to see a 21.5 from them.

Noone should be using bullet/internal plug batteries with 4x4SCT. Those are for 4s Escale use and little 2wd buggy use. Many of the battery companies are starting to add a disclaimer about 4x4SCT and internal plugs to their websites.

You're overloading the plugs Mr. Master Electrician. (Master Generator tech trumps Master Electrician as usual LOLz.) Get a wired pack and use a Deans plug.

I saw you were running smc packs this saturday and if Smiley likes them then that really says a lot. So far for me SMC puts quality and performance along with a good price something you don't see a lot of.

A lot of people run the inboard plugs in 4x4 sc at the track I go to with out issues. Probable just a bad solder joint. It happens to all batteries now and then.

We've melted dozens right through the case in 10min mains!

No particular brand either. And I'm talking about the quality split into 4 style, not the birdcages. Yeah..... it's insane.

But they're fine in Escale and 2wd.

The only pack I melted the case on was with a worn out bullet (4 prong) that had just been in there too long.
I ran a Mugen buggy converted to SCT for about 9 months (now Tekno) with a Tenshock 4600 and more recently with a HW 4700 on 2s so I am pulling probably more amperage than any other rc combo.
I just keep the bullets fresh and make sure I've got good joints, no issues. By the way, smc shorty bullets... best I've used

I'm thinking of ordering a couple of these for my 2wd vehicles, SC10.175 and T4.175, the inboard version.
