SMC LIPO BATTERY THREAD

What!? You have to be Effing kidding me? There are scammers all over the For Sale forums, as well as internet cowboys who spew hatred towards other members every day and they remain on the forums. Yet they suspend someone who consistently demonstrated positive contributions to this forum?
Ahem, Ahem . . . hey moderators . . . oh moderators . . . . you can take my user name on here and shove it up your collective hiney holes! I no longer need to be a part of this BS

I won't suspend you but rather you can suspend yourself by not logging in and posting either here or in the for sale section since you seem to sell a lot of stuff without paying the board a penny.

The only pack I melted the case on was with a worn out bullet (4 prong) that had just been in there too long.
I ran a Mugen buggy converted to SCT for about 9 months (now Tekno) with a Tenshock 4600 and more recently with a HW 4700 on 2s so I am pulling probably more amperage than any other rc combo.
I just keep the bullets fresh and make sure I've got good joints, no issues. By the way, smc shorty bullets... best I've used

Maybe 5r4e Polyphenyl Ether would be better.

I just wanted to say that I purchased two 5100 40C batteries from SMC for a friend that is a club racer for his ebuggy and he said they were great. I have the same batteries and have come to the same conclusion. I have owned many different batteries and love SMC for the quality and price.... SMC is my battery of choice now....

Ok so I'm playing with my PowerLab 6 today and wanted to see the difference between my 2S Nanotech packs, 2S GensAce Packs and the 2S SMC 6570 I just got.
He who's name shall not be spoken
said to be careful with the internal resistance measurement on the PL6 but that it would be ok to use to compare packs under the same conditions. Well what I found is that the NanoTechs and GensAce give an IR just below 4 mOhm and the SMC is around 2.6 mOhm. Or something like 30% lower.
My understanding is lower is better...so I can't wait to get this thing on the track.
Still need to test my Throttleworx Shorties to see where they fall.

Ran my new 5600 70C Saddle Pack last Saturday and I have to say the battery performed great with no loss in power throughout the heats & the main. I had to dremel to make it fit in my DEX410V3, but it fits nicely. I also bought an 8.5 SM-1 motor and it ran fast and cool all day. I wanted to thank Danny for having outstanding customer service and providing great values to us racers. I highly recommend giving his product line a try.

The other packs are a year old and I just received the SMC so that may have some impact as well. That said I'm not running every day or even every week, I run every other weekend at most and have way more batteries than I need so my packs don't get very many cycles.

If you would like to know when they will be in you can go to his face book page and ask when the next shipment will be in, he might not have an exact date but I do know the wait time between his shipment is not very long anymore.

Or for those that don't use Facebook you can ask in the SMC thread on RCGroups
