hey aaron does the rec work fine without the rec pack? if so it could be a bad cell in the rec pack, if not i'd bet that the rec is bad.

Default My experience

Just wanted to put in my experience with the spektrum.
2 friends and me ordered 3 spektrum systems, when we received it just 1 worked (two had the glitching issue). We contacted Spektrum and was told to ship them back for software upgrade.

Ok, no problem just ship it back and have them fixed Well not so easy, finally 2 months after we shipped the two units we received them. After all this wait it was like christmas for us. But once again there was trouble, now one unit failed
The problem now was actually one of the TX units as I borrowed my friends tx unit and it worked fine.
I was once again told by spektrum to return the RX for software upgrade

So much for that fun, I'll probably wait another 2 months to get this stuff againg

My friends experience with the product is good, but the customer service is not exactly outstanding..

How has customer support been for others?

Default No spektrum problems here

Purchaced the spektrum when they first came out and have not had a single glitch. I was the glitch master before. M8 with Airtronics servo and GT7. I now have three spektrum receivers and no problems.

Default Customer service Spektrum

I bought two complete sets for the Futaba 3PK transmitter about two months ago. I had to install a capacitator for one of my applications (the well know fact that a Nosram Dominator speed control and a Ko Propo digital servo don't work without).

Because I had to install a capacitator I informed Spektrum of the problem and asked what they thought of the problem and where to return them.

I never even got an answer. Thankfully I never returned them either and am still using them. With the capacitator installed not one problem thus far so my conclusion: the product is great, but the service is non existant.

One more story: a friend of mine bought two complete sets and two extra receivers. So in total four receivers. Only two out of four receivers actually worked. So now he has to return them.
I also bought two extra receivers but both of them work fine. They still do have the capacitator solved problem though.

Ciao,
Spiller

I bought my spektrum back when they were saying that all the problems had been worked out, however I experienced the complete shutting down of the receiver. I waited about a month and a half until I got it back but now it works perfectly.

Anyone had any issues with a Q2 and Hitec HS5925MG Digital servo?

Hey guys, got a question for you...

I'm just about to buy a practically new DX3 system from a friend of mine. He's giving me a great deal, but, we're having problems with it. No matter what we do to the programing, the steeering servo just won't get full travel. It made his car "push" all raceday, really slowed him down. We've tried setting EPA @ 125%, Expo @ 0%. Short of a really long servo arm, is there anything else I can do? Could it be the light grey servo that came with it(can't rememebr model #), maybe these servos just don't have the travel that my 590 and 650 do...

Thats exactly what I'm using with my M8 Spektrum and I haven't had one glitch since I switched over from FM XS3Pro.

I cut the wire to 3 1/2" and have the mast only 2" long and shoe goo'd to the top of the receiver.

not to rehash previously posted information but the spektrum is not a receiver but a transceiver and draws more current than a typical receiver. this is why the lrp based esc's require a capacitor to be plugged into the system. the esc current output is just a little low under load to operate the spektrum without dropping into fail safe or turning off. this capacitor "smooths" the current load supplying the slight reserve needed to cover the heavy load period of the system (transceiver, servo, etc..)
the capacitor will also help in other combinations as you have read when there is a load problem somewhere in the radio system on the car.

Some have needed a capacitor, but I have never used one with my QC2 and Hitec HS5925MG servo.
