That's what I was thinking Tres. I was under the impression the Champaigne, IL warehouses for both distributors were the main ones. I'm assuming I was incorrect since it seems people on the west side of the US are now getting their KO spektrum units. Anyone have an idea when the Horizon warehouse in IL will be receiving their shipment for us poor mid-westerners that have to wait longer?

This is kind of untrue. You don't have to worry about a screw vibrating causing a glitch, but it's still very possible to get glitching. Cell Phones and cordless phones still have interference problems and so can the Spektrum.

stormer's site has it 'in stock'.

willing to share since i just ordered mine!

Righto, Derek.

The primary thing you won't have to worry about is other people turning on their radio and glitching you out THAT way. . .

Normal glitching (caused by the car or controller, not radio/receiver/other idiots with radios turned on) can/will still happen. This isn't a magic bullet.

Radio/Receiver glitching. . .for various reasons, this could still be a problem (as we've been discussing. . . :D )

Took out my B4 with the Spektrum and when I binded it I held the brake fully but I guess I did it wrong, cause after testing the range of the Spektrum the B4 went out of range...i.e. 1000ft went full thruttle into a crub, chacked the chaiss in half broke the ears of the servo case and the servo arms and saver shattered. NICE though cause my buddy for the LHS was driving...and to see his face after he destoyed my B4 that was priceless. Was I mad? Not really I know these thing happen. Funny thing though...this guy was selling this weird crack filling compound that is like micropellets that you pour into cracks and just add CA and poof instant fix to the chassis.....and to the ears of the servo case...This stuff is great. I will be in contact with him soon to see how much and if he is willing to sell via the internet.
I will keep you posted.
So far my only advice I can give you is don;t drive your car more than 999 feet from you..LOL
Like there are tracks that big here in SoCal....yea right.

Like there are tracks that big anywhere!

Wow - 1K feet. . .not bad.

crzyber 03-02-2005 08:37 AM

hint: next time put your car on a stand, hit full throttle, and just turn the transmitter off to test the fail safe first.

I’ve been running the spectrum now for a number of months (M8), and the latest rev software is great!

I’ve also been using the system for the 3PK and so far it’s been really good! I’ve used it on outdoor asphalt and indoor carpet with no problems.

If it was out of range it would of shut the car down to failsafe settings. The guy simply destroyed your car 'cause he was a moron.

well all i can say is where does he buy his glasses, 1000ft really, lets see, 1/4 mile is 1320 ft, i can even see something that small that far away. and i as far as the fail safe, i tried it last night on the track, going about quarter throttle down the straight i shut off the transmitter, it took a good 3 seconds or about 20 ft for the car to shut down. can't wait to do this test in my nitro car at half throttle. :D

Turbonium 03-02-2005 02:38 PM

especially in the case of a nitro car, you can set where the servos go during failsafe mode... i would set it to "brake"!

if i remember right, it mentions it during the binding process. you are supposed to put the servos where you want them to be at failsafe before you bind... if you have already done it, you can rebind.
