The original grey module will also work with the newer receivers. I have the original module in my Ko Mars R with the Micro receiver. It works great but I have noticed a few minor things the more I run it.

At low speeds I will sometimes notice a hesitation in throttle followed by what can only be described as a small 'spike' in throttle. Only happens at low speeds when I'm cornering so I'm going to try another servo to see if that is the culprit.

The other issue I am experiencing is the neutral point on the servo. It feels like I'm constantly adjusting it on the radio, but again it could be the servo again.

I visited Spektrum's website and they speak of two similar issues in their FAQ section.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Skitee and Bobby...

so can I say that there is no major issue if I would to use the original grey receiver with the Pro module? what about the latency? does it follow Pro's or grey's time delay?

just would like to double confirm... if so, i would buy the grey rx cos its cheaper...

If you use the SR3000 with the Pro module then the latency is the same as the original Spektrum system latency, if you want the lower latency of the Pro system then you must use either the SR3001(Pro Receiver) or SR3500(Micro Receiver)

Anyone know where in this thread the antenna relocation mod is for an M8/M11???? I’ve been searching it for a while and I can’t find anything on it.

You can mix and match Pro Series and Original equipment without issue. When you mix the Pro Series with the Original equipment, you get 1/2 the latency improvement when compared to a full-Pro Series setup

Ask and ye shall receive...

http://xtremerc.com/pages/howto.php?howto=16&page=1

Took me forever to track it down a few weeks ago. Not even all that necessary because the modification is so simple. I spent more time looking for the tutorial than I did actually doing the mod

have you tried running a capacitor on your receiver? novak and spektrum both make one, i had a similar issue and using the capacitor solved it.

Using a hitec servo, it wouldnt go left somtimes ,on closer look it would hesitat to go in one direction .
removed servo and put on diff radio no prob, put on servo tester no prob.
changed to a hitec digital servo no prob on the spektrum....

Did you do the mod on an M8 or M11? I had the tutorial shown for the M8 (as well as another similar tutorial) and was fully prepared to do it on my M11. Unfortunately I found that the M11 was enough different inside (surprisingly so, especially for radios that look SO similar on the outside) that I decided to have someone else do it.

ymmv,

Scottrik
