Plug the bind plug into the battery/bind port. (Far left when you are looking at the receiver and can read Spektrum)
Turn on the car. Receiver should be flashing now.
Set failsafe positions, hold bind button and turn on your transmitter. After a few seconds the reciver will stop blinking and light solid. Remove the bind plug. You're all set to go.

I guess it's that "Bind Plug" that's keeping me from binding it to the Receiver. How do I get one of those or can I make one?..........I bought the Receiver used and did not get one of those.
Thanks for the info Guys!

Just get a receiver plug, and connect the signal wire and the negative wire together. Plug that into the bind port and you should be able to bind to your radio.

No, Futaba uses a different archetecture DSM system called Frequency Hoppying Spread Spectrum, while Spektrum DSM uses Direct Sequency Spread Spektrum. The Futaba system jumps from frequency to frequency while in operation while Spektrum systems lock-on to one frequency when the radio is first turned on and stays on that frequency until the radio is turned off.

I've got a question re: 3001 vs. 3500 receivers.
Is there any situation (other than wanting to run telemetry, which I don't) where the 3001 would be an advantage over the 3500? Is it potentialy more robust or is it just bigger?
Thanks,
Scottrik
