Isn't the bind plug removable? I thought the receiver still has 4 available slots to plug things in. Aux., Batt, steering, throttle. Not sure though, since I don't own one.

Yes it's removable and the bind plug has a wire from negative to signal, positive is "blank" ..so I *assumed* that I could plug in a negative/positive only perpheral (like a fan) ...but I'd hate to try it, turn the car on and KAPLOEYYY!!!

Yes, you can use the "Bind" slot for power. If you look at the Bind plug, it's leads "short out" the outside 2 pins....a fan or other accessory uses the outside and middle pin.

I try the SR3500 micro receiver today with a 7T mod, the car has some(a lot) glitch on the right hand side of the track, last week with a 12T mod it was fine. I have a capacitor plug in the receiver, I'm using a KO VFS-1. Any idea why? Only the right hand side of the track. I later put the old SR3000 receiver back on, The car works perfectly, no glitch at all.( still with 7T mod) What can I do?

I tested the micro too today with my 12T V2. And 2 strange things:
  1. I had twice a real big glitch and lost the car (failsafe was working)
  2. With the transmitter on (but also when I turned the transmitter off!!) the throttle was on/off every few seconds.
I did put the SR3000 back in and the problems were gone.
Is this a known problem, or is again my ESC?

First issue I've heard of with the 3500's. I won't be in the office until Wednesday, but I'll pass this on and see if anyone else has heard anything. The hottest motor I've run with mine so far has been a 10T V2 in my XXX-4 4wd buggy and it ran perfectly. Like I say, I'll see if I can find anything out.

Question though:
What transmitter, modules (standard or Pro series), ESC, and servos? Thanks guys.

PS: Caveman- If you have the handheld programmer for the VFS-1, crank the BEC voltage to 4.0 volts and try that. I know Robert from KO told me to crank the BEC up when I mentioned I was first going to Spektrum when I was running a Helios.

I use a Futaba 9551 digital servo and standard module with Futaba 3PK, it has been problem free with SR3000 receiver(after re route the antenna inside the module). So I think the module is fine. I have the handheld programmer, will set it to 4.0volts and give it a try, thanks for the reply

any body here know what the transmit time (latency??) is for the dx2/3 radios?? I had a Ko ex-11 before and my dx2 feels faster, my airtronics 258 servo also seems more responsive..is it my head??--Al

Hi guys,

I recently snapped my spektrum arial about 1cm from where is goes into the reciever.

Can i send this back to spektrum and get them to fix it?

Also ive heard there was an upgrade for the reciever and transmitter module...is this free or will it cost?

Thanks in advance,
Nick

The upgrades involve a firmware update for the module and receiver and are free of charge. I'm not sure if the warantee covers the antenna or not, I'd say call product support just to double check though.

I haven't been able to find an answer to this but, can you use the older SR3000 receivers with the 'Pro' modules? I'll be eventually moving over to SR3500's but until then I need to know if my existing receivers will still be compatibile if I get the new module.
