I really like this design. You can also just remove the switch and replace it with jumper from computer.

I see that LRP has a software update posted for the ix8. Has anyone tried this yet? I cant read the German notes in the revision history to see what they changed. Anyone know?

Scroll down in the PDF

v1.6 released on 15.03.2012
Small background adjustments and fixed a small bug which sometimes
prevented correct reverse function when automatic brake was enabled.

LOL Didnt even think of a looking for a 2nd page on it.

So basically sounds like nothing if I'm not having any issues. Certainly not worth buying the $35 USB device for installing firmware upgrades.

Does anyone know if this fits in the new factory team without modding it? Im looking for an 8 scale ESC to fit in without shaving my truck.

I also had some trouble with the BEC, it could not operate an Airtronics 94358 that I put in while waiting for the my new Radiopost. While testing on the bench it would hang for 1-2 seconds whenever I released the steering while the servo was moving, or when doing quick left-right turns. RX is a Futaba r603fs, this servo-rx combination worked well with a Castle Sidewiner sct in my Blitz. Replaced the servo with a spare Turnigy 958 and it was faultless, of course within the limits of this slower servo.
Had the first race Saturday, no problems whatsoever ecxept that I am still afraid of how the on/off switch will tolerate the dust.
The new software may have fixed the BEC; I'll see next week when I'll find time to take the car apart for service. LHS was super helpful, they emailed me about the new sw within hours of release, and updated the ESC.

Edit: forgot to add that I was running it on 4s in a converted 8ight.

Yea I got this problem. Had NO reverse until I saw this and put the auto brake to "0".
The other problem I have is that it starts to stutter after running it for a little while. Starts getting worse the longer I drive it. Is this part of the software problem also? Wish I would have kept my RX8.
Dont really want to spend another $30 to make this run like its suppose to.

There's a very small '-' sign molded into the case near the edge, so negative (black) wire goes to the outside.
