great another esc goin up in smoke at the track.........

I KID..I KID.....

I can see that ESC really going up in smoke at the track, its for a 1/8th car with a big brushless motor pulling 2000+watt's and it has no fan built into it. No cooling fins in the world on something that small will keep it cool.

I say this is a fail because there's no fans to keep it cool. And who really wants to gear down that far as youll be slow cause the 1/8th motors are low KV and Need the higher gearing.

Add a good fan and they make have something decent

if it's built properly, proper amount of fets, etc.. a fan shouldn't be needed.

looks like theres a spot to connect a fan next to the capacitor. Also, it says in the description there a plug for a fan. But I agree, ideally it shouldn't be needed but good for insurance.

Did you guys read the description under the photo?

...best in brushless racing technology comes together in this speed control that features pluggable connectors and cooling fan, and is suitable for use with 2S to 6S LiPo batteries.

Looks like the just removed the fan for the picture.

Hopefully, this is a real 1/8 scale ESC. Always seemed like the traditional 1/10 electronics companies made half-hearted attempts at true 8th scale stuff with crappy ESCs limited to 4s and weak 2 pole motors. Glad to see it is rated for 6s.

I'll probably try it out after someone else plays the tester on this one. We do need more options than Tekin, Hobbywing, and Castle.

A fan should not be needed on a properly setup car.

There were a few at Nationals talking to some of my friends who attended. I know that the guys running them were having motor heat problems, coming off over 220* during the mains and some guys couldn't even finish a race without the fan.

Saw it on the latest RC Car Action mag. Direct competitor to RX8?

Yup, just like their 1/10 speed controls the fan screws down onto the cooling fins. You can see the small lines that act like threads on the two outermost cooling fin grooves....

Looks nice, hopefully the $325 for the esc and $270 for the motor comes down a little bit as new tekin systems can be had for half that....

At that price I'll be sticking with the RX8, unless it includes a lifetime warranty!
