Just picked up a reventonS and having some issues. I plug in the programmer in and it says SP then a few seconds later it will show two dashes. It doesn't do anything when i hit the buttons.

Somebody needs to make a 90 degree end servo wire though....didn't care for the first pictures I saw of just the unit, looks even scarier with the plug connected. Not that it'll stop me from giving it a go, but still.

Agreed, was tuff fitting it under the body.

Awesome to hear. I was looking on their site and the 8th scale ones were STUPID cheap. What a time to not have $$$$. *desperately trying to sell stuff ASAP!!

I Have an RC8TE and RC8BE (slowing going to 8.2) and I don't want to follow the crowd and go Tekin or worse MMM. Anyone have experience running Truggy vs Buggy? Any suggestions as to which motor route to go? Looks like the combo is only offered in 2200kv but they show 2 diff. motor options. Is 2200 a safe bet for both, or would I want to step up to 2500 for the truggy?

Also, Obviously 4s > 3S, but is anyone running 3S with any success or should I just order 4s and at what C rating are these happiest?

Currently the only real track to run around here is sorta small, and typically dusty. I am working on getting an indoor facility for the winter that will be covered and hopefully more grooved, but in the meantime, i REALLY want one of these. ( Anyone want to buy a crawler, some RC Bodies, perhaps a Vintage TG10 Tamiya or some Old Kawada Sedans? )

I am a Viper guy, i own 10 viper systems currently. But after some warranty issues with Viper and having to deal with their customer service i decided to try something else. Speed Passions Reventon S just became available. I loved the design. The stats were descent and the price was great. My only concern was quality and customer service.

Well i got my reventon and did have issues. The programming box was bad. I just got done talking to Speed Passion via their chat. And they are sending me a new programmer no problem at all. I think Viper may be replaced

Do the new reventon's have the loose connection wire like the 2.0/2.1, from esc to reciever?

swalesy09 06-25-2012 09:33 AM

hey guys really happy with speed passion recently just bought 2 stock club esc's by them and a v2 17.5t motor run good would't steer away from speed passion

Ironwolf1974 06-25-2012 12:28 PM

Just got my Speed Passion brushless conversion for my XRAY 808.

Basically in a nutshell Speed Passion has lost me for a customer.

The battery tray is complete nonsense, just the way they want you to mount it makes it hit the spur gear.

The motor mount is off enough that you cant get a good mesh with your gears.

Very displeased.

Oh yeah and didnt come with any instructions, had to look them up on there site and it was one page with tiny pictures.

For those using the SP silver arrow, I'm wondering about its use on 3s vs 4s. Noticeable difference in power and also, if using 3s, what's the lowest C rating I should use? Thinking the 2200kv for my Rc8t 3s for screwing around and 4s for racing. Is that reasonable?
