what is it you are wanting to accomplish?

Do you need more top end, etc?

I've been out of racing for a long time, for the last 8 years I've been into RC rockcrawling, so I'm trying to learn how to drive fast again. I bought the truck 3 weeks ago and been driving it ever since. Honestly the motor is probably to fast for my abilities right now but I'm practicing as much as possible. When I first set it up I updated it to the latest version and put in the software version with no timing, and drove it until I felt I was ready to go faster. Every weekend I take it to the track I tweek it a little more to go faster. Now I have the software V 3.0_120428 MOD in it. The first time I had the default stuff in it except for DDRS which I had at level 6 but I was having a hard time making a triple. Then last night I changed the DDRS to 7 and put the boost to 16 and the turbo to 0 and it got real fast but I'm not sure what I want other than I'm still getting used to the truck so I want the accel. fairly smooth. Sorry for the long post but just wanted to give as much info as possible.

no prob. I would say keep doing what your doing and read up on what the settings do, from there, you can determine what you want it do. I personally pretty much use turbo right now for the top end I need since the bottom feels really good as it is.

Will the Reventon Pro run the Tekin pro4 sensored 4 pole motor? Or am I going to have to use a 550 can type.

Where do I find any info though? The ? mark after the settings only explain about half the settings.

Frazier helped me solve my wifi issue today. It was a bit of user error although the app definitely didn't help me either.

When I launch the reventon app and try to connect, the popup says Ip address ex. 192.168.11.123:8888. My data entry fields are blank and I assumed that pressing OK would use that default address since it was not manually entered in the video.

After re-watching the video, the numbers are in the data entry field unlike mine. In the video, I saw the user hit connect so I just did so as well. It turns out that field is required.

Even though I have successfully connected, I need to manually enter in the IP/Port every time I launch the app.

Glad you got it figured out. I was getting worried about it working with new iOS. I am thinking about getting another R Pro for my son's buggy then getting the wifi module so I can use my phone. I do have bootcamp and windows 7 for my Mac, but it's a pain to use and to be honest I take enough stuff to track let alone packing my macbook too.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed at the way the app works. Switching firmware is a chore and you need to have good data reception. Since the wifi is being connected to the module, you can't access the internet that way.

The app should support downloading of firmware at home at allow installs to occur in an offline mode. If your track has internet access, it's a pain to switch back and forth.

Maybe Apple didn't allow it but the bluetooth module really would have been the better way to go here. That way wifi access could still be used.

Since I'm a Mac house, my only way to update my firmware is the wifi device and I have to use AT&T to deliver it to me.

This isn't the greatest design.

Rookie Questions

Just got my first SP product (Reventon R) and will run for the first time tomorrow. I have a couple of quick questions.

First, for casual 17.5 blinky at the track, any reason to run Stock0? It seems I can just stick with Modified(0 or 1) firmware and turn timing to zero.

With the above in mind, Drift1 and Modified0 allow for the same adjustable parameters. Is there a difference (other than maybe the default parameters)? I guess I could ask the same regarding Mod1 and Stock0 (assuming I turn timing to zero on Mod1).

DRRS. What does this REALLY do? Is it drive frequency? Current limiter? "Punch?" If I have this at the minimum value and stab the throttle, will I get the same result as having it at the maximum value with a gentle, smooth pull of the throttle?

Any insight from the knowledgeable community would be much appreciated.

The odd thing is there is a guy who posted on another thread that his buddy or him ARE using the ESC with a Pro4 motor.

Also heard you CAN use the SAV2 with 2S lipo. Rumor is the guts are the same as the Xerun which can do it ...

:weird:

Yeah, thats the kicker ...

I believe when you download the software there should be some setting info within it or at least in the 323 software zip file. SOme of the names changed, but it still the same stuff.

Cain, that's me running the pro4 4000 with the Reventon pro. Two weeks now and no issues. Pretty stock setup on the esc and it works very well. TQ and A main win and that was with one motor wire coming off halfway through the race.

Hope that clears the air here a bit. Guess I need to subscribe to another thread, lol.

Your idea is good. If you want to download firmware in Reventon app (iOS), first disconnect the WI-FI module. Second, device connected to network. Third, open Reventon app. Then press "NO" after message box ("Connected to WI-FI module" ) is popup. After that press "Options" button (lower left corner). Finally press "ONLINE UPDATE" and "CHECK UPDATE FIRMWARE" button to update firmware.

Can anyone recommend a stable starting setup for the R-Pro running Hybrid Boost? Xray XB4 with 7.5

Ive always been told not to be running boost with low turn motors. Im guessing unless is was a low amount of boost you would be pushing the limits of the esc.
