Personally I am not a fan of the fact they now come with all black wiring. It makes it a real pain if you don't premark the orientation of the plug on each side to make sure they are going in correctly compared to the multicolored wire.

Ok, I have a question. I ran my car for the first time today, big track 19 second laps.
My SA2, running pretty much standard settings all day, last qualifier uped the DDRS, and timing two knotches. Car didnt really get faster, but, I could have been wrong. My car has a 1700kv Tekin, (waiting on the new SP stuff), spur gear is 48/18. Motor is warm, speedo is cold, and came off the track at the end of the main, 12 min with 15.00v left in the pack. I did win, but by far one of the slower cars in speed, but completely drivable.. I think I can gear higher.? LVC is cut off @ 3.0. So my interpertation of the the LVC I can go down to 12.00v? Will it be good. All in all I was very happy with the performance all day, it only got better. I know Im not running a 2050, or 1900 so the snap isnt there, but RPMS should be close... Anyone can help please?

Howard, ETA on the new SP 1/8 motors, or the Reventons?

Since the vehicle you are running has that 4.3 diff ratio and you are running on 4S, using this chart:

http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/top_speed.html

and these settings:

- 14.8V Battery Voltage
- Tekin 1700Kv motor at 1780Kv rating
- Proline Holeshot tires 4.1 diameter

Your estimated top speed was only about 28 miles per hour.

I would say to get up to the more common gearing range of 35mph to 40mph, you need to go up in your pinion tooth count significantly.

I personally would look into using the Lightning 44T Spur gear or 46T spur gear or you can do the Kyosho nylon spur gear mod and run there 44T spur gear like I do and then you don't need to go up as high on the pinion tooth count. A higher Kv motor though would be more ideal on 4S.

I would also run your cutoff rating at 3.2V per cell at a minimum to get better life out of your batteries. I personally run 3.3V myself.

Whats the deal with the Reventon series Speed Controllers?? First were supposed to be late march, Then mid april, now we dont even hear anything about them? Are they coming soon since HobbyWing has released their V3??

The website says no on the SAV2 on 2S if I recall correctly.

The GT2.0 Pro works great for 550 motors, I am going to try it with the Tekin pro4 today.

i run my 2.0 pro today with the 4 pole 4800 it seemed slow did not get over 110 deg on the motor and 90 on the esc may be under geared or the esc is no set correctly for this motor will try again at the track wed nite.

Just a quick question, is the gt2.0 LP the same board as the normal gt2.0, just minus the fan? I have a spare i was going to put into my 4wd buggy, i know the gt2.0 can handle but not sure with the LPF.

Thanks

It's a no go for 4wd(Dex410). Lpf has different construction than the pro.

GT 2.0 LP is rated down to 5.5T motor. You can use it, but make sure you use the fan!
I don't recommend 5.5T for 4wd buggy or boost. I wouldn't do anything lower than 7.5T for 4wd.

I would say try gearing up first depending on where you are topping out down the longest straight. Your temps though look easily in the range where you could go up on your pinion gear.

DRRS: This is simply a feel adjustment, right? It doesn't do anything to limit current, does it?

What software level? Old one it limits, new software it doesn't.

t0p_sh0tta 05-02-2012 09:01 AM

I'm using the non-LCD programing box, so I'm going to assume it's the old software.
If it is the limiting version, then that's great!
