Quick question for the SP guys. I have an SP GT 2.0 Pro that I got last year, and I ran it in my touring car with a 4.5. Now that I'm sticking to offroad, I am hoping to run this in my new Losi 22 buggy, but it of course doesn't fit under the body with the fan. My question is, can I run this speedo without the built-in fan running a 7.5 turn x12? No fan is the only way this speedo will fit in this car.

Yeah ditch the fan and cut out the vent on top of the body. That's how my GT2.1 is mounted.

Im running mine with no fan on my CR buggy, esc is barely warm with a 17.5. A fellow racer at my local track is running a 10.5 with his GT 2.0 and no fan and has had no problems. I would make sure the overheat protection is enabled and run it.

Thanks, but a 17.5 and a 10.5 is not a 7.5... anybody know for sure if I can run this without a fan?

Do this....can you double side taped the fan and have the fan taped onto the chassis, at stand up posiition, blowing toward the ESC and still fit under the body...? SP has the 25mm fan and it MIGHT fit under the body...

Yes, the fan might not blow directly to the heat sink but with that position, it can still blow toward the ESC with some kinda cooling...better then nothing.

And I have use 6.5 on TC without fan on my GT2 Pro...I am sure TC ran hotter on the ESC then off road....

Hey Branding. Imo you don't need the fan when running off road period. Never mind the wind of the motor. That takin setup you posted was pretty slick, you must be building a second car or looking for more smoothness, which the SP will deliver in mod.

Imagine that, boost on a mod motor, who'd a thought.

Btw I think 323 will have to much drag brake for off road even when turned off.
I had to add some throttle creep with the trim button.

I run an 8.5r with absolutely no problems without a fan. You are good to go without a fan in a 7.5r. I would just keep an eye on the temp for the first couple of runs.

Thanks! that's what I needed to know. 6.5 on a TC with no fan puts far more load on the esc than 2wd buggy.

Thanks Ritchie... Same car actually, but just rebuilt it into it's rear motor config. And since now that I have a lot more room under the body, I can run a better mod speedo than the Tekin. Even though the SP is the largest speedo I have ever seen, it is far smoother, and much more robust for the low turn mod motors. I'm excited to get it wired up now. My first couple runs, what kind of temp numbers should I be trying to keep under when temping the heat-sink.

I forget the official max temp, but if you spit on it and it sounds like Bacon frying its to hot.

Seriously, I don't know. But I don't think I've ever temp one over 110 - 120

Need help please. After hours of searching threads and researching prices for all kinds of esc's , I have decided to get either the speedpassion gt2.1 ex or the gt2.1 pro stock and the V3 17.5 motor. My question is what is the difference between the 2 esc's. Is it just the software? I will be racing stock 17.5 short course class and anything goes as far as boost and timing. Do I have to purchase something else to upgrade the software or does that come with the esc?

Thanks for replies......
