quick question, has anyone had any issues running a Reedy Mach 2 with any of the ESC's? I have a revention pro and its running supper hot and pretty slow... I want to start with the easy stuff first, make sure motor-ESC are compatible?? thanks.

I run a Reventon Pro and Mach 2 17.5. No issues, no fan, no heat problems.

I've never heard any issues running the Reedy motors. A few guys ran Reedys at LITH that also have Reventons.

This is not a black and white rule, but generally a really hot ESC can be a sign of being very undergeared.

super hot motor : overgeared
super hot ESC : undergeared

Thanks fella's, the ESC was fine, it was the motor... could have been overgeared went from a 20-24 pinion but 20 had so little top end that i thought it would help.. maybe 22 will do it!

Is this in your TLR SCT?

25/76 would be a decent starting point to run. If you have a different spur just adjust the pinion to match the same Final Drive Ratio.

I have a Reedy Mach 2 6.5 in my 410 and it runs hot (most motors do in that car anyway thanks to the confined quarters), but it is seriously fast and smooth.

I just installed my Reventon S and its a nice little piece, everything works as it should but i was noticing that the brakes on it when i apply them seem... weak. I have it at 80% right now and didnt know if for a stock esc it doesnt have much brake to keep momentum going in the car, just wondering lol

I have my brakes set 80% also and they are not stopping on a dime either. I was told to run Brakes near max and tune with the controller. Is that what is suggested? seems to work and is much faster to set up this way!

First thing I would do it make sure you have the newest firmware downloaded from Speed Passion's website. Then recalibrate.

The newest software usually solves any problems people had in the past with soft brakes.

I found out why i had hardly any brakes, I obviously didnt understand the manuel on programming and had it set on lvl3. So i bumped it up to lvl9 and adjusted with my controller, thanks guys for the input
