MOD1 is for touring and is aggressive. Load MOD2 which is smoother and designed for offroad. Here is a chart below explaining.

I just picked up a used Serpent MM buggy with a REvention Pro 1.1 in it. I also have a Proline SCB that I run, currently has a Super Vortex One so I can change settings from my MT4s. Is the Revention 1.1 worth keeping over my other two esc's (Castle MMP and Tekin Gen2 RS)? I just want something easy and dependable. I don't get to race very often, just take the cars to the track to get some track time. Nothing too serious. Just want dependable and well performing.

Wright,

I can't say as I have never used a Castle or Tekin, but if you are interested in selling, I may be interested depending on price.

=^)

Kwiksi gave some solid input. There a handful of guys on the SP team running the 22-4 so eventually we can get a ESC setup sheet posted.

agree, you'll want to run Mod2 for off road for sure.

I'm lucky to be in a position to run what I want. I would choose the Reventon 1.1 over the 2 esc's you listed.

Looking for help!

A few months back I purchased a reventon s/17.5r combo from a local hobby shop. I had issues with it right out of the box. I took it back to the hobby shop and the motor would be really inconsistent and sometimes make a grinding noise so we figured it was the motor. We grabbed another speed passion motor from another combo and hooked it up and had the same issue and stopped because we didn't want to smoke another motor. We took the second speed control and it worked fine with the second motor. It ran well for about 6 track sessions and is now also having issues. I had to take about a month off due to real life stuff and tried to get my buggy for a local trophy race and ran into the grinding/inconsistent revs and turned it off. The speed controller has both the red and orange lights blinking when I turn it on which according to the book is low input voltage/overheating. I tried multiple charged batteries, different receivers, sensor wires, and motors. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or has this happened to anyone else or am I just out another speed controller since it is out of warranty now? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Fan Necessary on Reventon R?

I am running the Reventon R and 17.5 mmm in my TA B5M and am wondering if the fan is necessary?

One last question about the Revention Pro 1.1. Can it handle a 4 pole motor, like a Castle 3800 (model 1410)?

Don't know. If you try it use a fan on speedo and try mild settings (no boost)/ Let us know how it goes.

I just picked up an SC10 with the revention esc, but didn't get the programming card. Is there a way to program the esc without the card?

No.

You can calibrate it to your radio, but that's it. Any changes must be made with the programing box.
