It's common knowledge at the tracks in my area that the male ends of bullet connectors fail over time, so experienced racers typically solder the wires directly from the ESC to the motor to avoid this headache.

does anyone know if the embedded male bullets inside the can are replaceable?

have you ever used the SP bullet system? I found them to me WAY TIGHT. so much so I could not get them off. So I never bothered and just treated them like solder tabs and never unplugged them

Those are not really replaceable. From what I have seen some people have dropped a tiny bit of solder inside the female end and quickly placed it on the male side creating a solid fix. Many are also just running it normal in 4x4 SC with no issues.

If I can find it there is discussion about it on this thread somewhere.

Can you see if your sensor wire was damaged? If that is fine, try replacing the sensorboard.

I wonder if Scargoes problem is related to the bullets failing?

I've seen that same symptom happen frequently with other racers who use bullet connectors between the ESC and motor, once they hard solder the connection (eliminating the bullets), then their cogging and/or intermittent power to motor issues go away.

I've had really good luck with this motor hall sensor tester here to rule out any bad wires etc:

I'll get a new sensor wire, because having a spare isn't a bad thing, and test things out. Everything should run fine without the sensor wire plugged in, correct? It would be an easy way to test if it's the sensor/sensor wire by running it sensorless. If it's the sensor board, which one can I replace it with? Or is it worth the extra few bucks to upgrade to the 17.5MMM?

Bill: My bullets are pretty tight. I have to use pliers to get enough grip on them to pull them off. Why couldn't I have seen that sensor checker sooner? I just placed an order with RCMart this morning. And the checker is only $3.90 now.

I've got a reventon in my B44.1 with a 7.5 motor. Small, technical, clay indoor high bite track. I was running stock firmware, but would like to try mod to get some more options. Which mod firmware should I try? 0,1, or 2? Also is it worth updating to the 24 software on an original reventon? Thanks.

Yds update the firm ware,!! I got the same setup in my b44.2. I run 78/ 19 or 20 for trinity lane. Motor temps are 145-150 and speed control is a cool 105 every time I have ran it. I run mod 1 with the latest firm ware. Then I start the programming off at the bottom an raise it until I like it. I never have touched the timing on the motor just the speed control. I have it around 18.5 trimming and there's 5 on the motor.
And I do run the fan on top of the speed control.

Yes always worth it to update to the newest software. You'll want to run MOD2. It is for offroad and the smoothest. You don't want to run stock software with timing boost for offroad unless your on super high grip and can lay it down.

Thanks, I was running the blinky stock software, it's way too fast for me with no boost. I was looking for a smoother one, blinky stock is probably pretty punchy to get the most out of a 17.5

Thanks again for the advice
