Is the Silver Arrow V2 1/8th esc a good esc to use in short course 4wd trucks? I'm torn between using a brushlesshobbies 120amp lt4 esc or one of my spare SA V2's.

Which would be a better match?

Having random shutdown with the reventon pro this weekend had to pull it and put the Rs back in can't figure it out.

The problem I have been told is that it doesn't work well on 2S. The GT2.0 Pros do work great in 4x4 SCT.

So, I have a small dilemma, I have a few "Pro's" and and an "R". They all work with my LCD box, but the R doesn't with my laptop, so if I were to want to put the R in blinky, how would I go about doing so?

Can the Reventon Pro handel a Tekin 4030 1/8 Brushless Motor 1.5Y 1900kv Sensored/Sensorless (TT2352) ore the 2050Kv (TT2351) also Tekin motor?

The Reventon Pro was designed for 1/10 scale applications. I would not use it for 1/8 unless you want to let out the magic smoke. The Silver Arrow ESC was designed specifically for 1/8 applications.

How long have you had it? How many times have you ran it? Any problems before? With fan or without? 17.5T no-boost, right? Is ESC thermal protection feature turned on? Is LiPo low voltage protection on? Which brand motor?

I have had it for about 3 weeks running 17.5 blinky and no problems before this. Thermal and low voltage protection are both turned off and im using a tekin redline 17.5. I think I have the problem figured out I was running a Gen 1 Redline and swapped it to a Gen 2 Redline and thats when the problem started swapped back and it seems to be ok. Need to do some more testing but it appears the Reventon pro is not liking the Gen 2 motor.

Sucked watching you go through that this weekend. Hope you get it figured out as you know that Gen2 motor can't be touched :cool:

Very interesting. I'm also running a Gen1 Tekin 17.5. Have you tried cutting the sensor wire (second of the six sensor leads in the sensored motor connection) that is supposed to transmit motor temp?

From the SP website:
"Notice for Speedpassion Reventon Pro users using Viper motors:
It has come to the attention of Speed Passion that there has been compatibility issues for Revention Pro users using Viper motors. The cause of this issue is the temperature sensor unit within Viper motors. In order to use Viper motors with the Reventon Pro in sensored mode, disconnect or cut the temperature sensor wire. As viewed from the endbell of the motor, this wire is the second wire from the left on the sensor connector. Please see the figure below for further details."

I know you're using a Tekin, but the Gen2 motors may have the same issue as the Viper. Worth a shot maybe.

Interesting. I will have to keep an eye on this.
I am running a Tekin Gen2 10.5 in my 2wd buggy with the Reventon Pro. Ran 4-5 practice packs a weekend ago with MOD1 profile and ran 5 packs at a race Saturday (1 practice, 3 6min heats, 1 10min main) with the newly released MOD2 profile.
I haven't had any troubles yet.
Hope this is nothing serious or recurring as I just ordered a wheeler and picked up another Reventon Pro for it... but this time I went with a SP Comp 3.0 8.5 motor for it (couldn't pass on the price).
