I can say I seen his car running saturday, He is running a b4.2 just like me and has the stock spur and a 23 tooth pinion. Im running the vtx10 and the vst 8.5 motor and I also run the same car and gearing as him and my esc and motor were much cooler than his. And he is using the vtx10r and the 7.5 motor. That is the only difference. His car would shut down after running for just a few minutes. It wasnt hot outside either, prob 80. I do not know his settings, but Im running blinky, not sure if he is or not

I would not think a 2wd car would get that hot, even with a 7.5. something with the settings -- maybe boosted with a high slew rate (that causes a lot of heat).

Sorry if I missed it, but which car, motor, ESC, and profile on the ESC?
Things that will help: lower the throttle freq (PWM) increase the punch make sure forward power is turned up adjust gearing / slipper (if applicable) properly Also we will be releasing more info on the new Pro 9 caps soon too :sneaky: Motor: 2100kv Battery: 4S 5300 30C Gearing: 14/46 I do have extra pinions but was considering changed some settings before going up a tooth. |
Why does the vtx8 not hold neutral position? After programming Neutral, fwd, rev everything zeroed a couple races later after not touching the trim it will be blinking red or orange then I have to throttle trim either way to get power back.

Hey everyone, I'm in the process of getting a new speed control for 1/10 stadium truck or 1/10 buggy running an 8.5 motor or lower. Which Viper speed control would be best for that application? I see that there is a black edition and both of the VTX10 versions have R as well, what does the R mean? I would also like to get the proguage with it but I also see the ezlink and the ezlink comes with certain speedos. I'm thinking about an orion R10 but not sure about the setting box and it's features compared to the Viper set up. Please let me know your thoughts. Any help would be appreciated.

Ronnie I think for your applications the VTX10r will be your best bet. The standard VTX10 is more than capable of handling motors down to 6.5t, but in your case it's best to have no limitation on motor turns. The main difference between the black edition is that the black editions are focused mainly for 2s applications, whereas the standard VTX is 3s capable. The progauge and ezlink are both very easy to use. The ezlink is just a simplified version of the progauge. It doesn't have the Rpm tachometer the progauge does. Go with the viper, it has more features like the adjustable BEC so you can run your servos at their highest settings. The viper esc is easier to program, the warranty is twice as long, and easier on your wallet. |

Ronnie The VTX10 Black Edition is definitely where you want to be. The 'R' is built for lower turn motors / 4wd. So if you plan on running lower than a 6.5T or 4wd, get an 'R'. For 2wd buggy / truck, the std is fine (it's what I run :) ) Proguage vs EZLink: Proguage has battery tester as well as a few other items. EZLink is strictly a setup box. We just introduced that option to lower cost to the consumer. Proguage will still be offered separately for those who still want it. I've never run the Orion products, so I can't offer any comparison. I can only say that the VTX10BE is everything I could ever ask for in an ESC. |

Try a new model on the radio and rebinding everything to rule that out, then try a different receiver. If you still have the issue with a different receiver, try using a different radio all together. |
Dx3r pro and sr300 but my buddy has a vtx8 and it does the same thing with his dx3c.
|
common theme is Spektrum. when I first got my VTX10BE I had an M11 with the Spektrum module. It did the same thing. I only had that radio for a short period of time though. I ended up getting the Futaba 4PL and never had another issue.
