ran a large pro series race this week end and made the show but i had some problems a couple of times. power to my motor/esc stopped during a race briefly. once on a hard hit then again in the A main for like 20 seconds. the whole time i had power to servo so i dont think its a brown out. gonna go through the truck and check for loose plugs etc but was wondering if anyone here had similar problems. i also dont think it was a thermal as a friend picked up my truck during the race that it stopped in and said he could easily touch the motor and esc. he set it down and it worked again..
With Lipos lasting a long time, they are outlasting the Deans connector.

Took first place at the Turf vs. Dirt Shootout in Foley Minnesota at the 510 raceway running a VTX8 powered Losi SCTE. There weren't many entrants in 4x4 short course and my main competition at this track dropped out fairly early but the truck was awesome and the ESC supplied effortless tsunami's of power. Installation and setup were a snap and my initial settings were spot on. I think I may have sold a Progauge too as I showed a fellow racer with a Copperhead system how easy it is to program with. Don't forget to get a Progauge, folks. They are awesome!

Also check your sensor cable, it can cause this type of issue and get progressively worse until it just won't go.

Viper design engineers...you would be an even bigger fan of mine if you would develop an integrated power/sensor cable to run between ESC and motor. I have no idea how our hobby has managed to get this far with the chintzy little sensor wires dangling out of the back end of the motor but something substantially more robust would be sweet!

probably had a voltage spike from the hard hit. these 4 pole motors we all use now a days put a big strain on the system and it can happen. Sometimes lowering settings like Punch, battery type (how old it is), motor efficiency - are all things that can help contribute it that happening. If it was a more series issue it would happen constantly - like every jump.
the 2nd time it happened where it lasted for like 20 seconds there was no hard hit. it happened in a long switch back.

I have a new Platinum Slash 4x4 (LCG, GTR etc.) That I have been running on backyard and outdoor tracks. Just for fun not competitive racing. I was looking at getting the
Viper R/C Copperhead-R ESC & VX4R.45 4-Pole 550 Sensorless Brushless Motor Combo (4500kV)
any thoughts on the combo? I am sure it will be a power increase over the stock Traxxas VXL system
I just upgrades the driveline ahead of time lol
