Checking out the motor earlier today, it's not as red as it shows up in the photos. It's more of an orange/red... Very nice looking motor, well packed and presented, solder tabs are like nothing I have seen. About to go solder the motor up and see how they work.

Guy was running a new 5.5 in his mod sprint today and it was pretty quick. I think the adjustable timing ones will be even faster. His 5.5 has the set timing non adjustable timing.

I met JC Johnson at the Viper booth in Chicago - looked like he had some good A main results at the big race up in the NW this weekend. Wonder what Viper motor he was running??

I'd like to congratulate JC Johnson on his two podium finishes at the most recent ECT Northwest championship series race, held at Tacoma R/C Raceway in Washington. JC finished 2nd in modified truck and 3rd in 2wd modified. He runs a VST 7.5t in his 2wd buggy and a VST 6.5t in his truck. Competition in the Northwest is always top notch!

I actually believe the entire 2wd modified podium was running Viper VST motors :tire: Smooth and usable offroad power!

Thanks Dalton, I'll update my post!

I had time to track test the Viper VST 8.5 today and was VERY VERY impressed. So smooth, so quite and the power for an 8.5 was amazing.

I will have my full video review along with some running shots in the next couple of days! :sneaky:

MOTOR WAS AWESOME!!

Nice looking track. Seems like all the jumps are right at every corner and not really spaced out. I can see running mod at that track because otherwise it wouldn't flow to well.

Motor did look like it had smooth power.

Yea it's not the best layout... Not sure why they always put triples with short landings that head right into the strait. BRCR is a fun place, just need Raegan to design them a track layout.

Nice thing is you have a nice indoor place. The layout can always be tweaked as needed. Looks like mad traction as I don't recall your truck ever getting loose in that video. Do you guys run slicks or run the smaller treaded type tires (Suburbs, Wishbones, and Bar Codes) stuff like that?

Yea I can't argue with the fact having a place to run indoors. It's a great place, everyone is super friendly. The traction is awesome, brand new clay. I run wishbones and suburbs on the rear and city blocks up front, everyone else uses slicks. I tried them and was not impressed.

I could get it loose, that Viper had no problem spinning me out. :sneaky:
I highly recommend you check out the Viper mod motors, they would rip on the MMP.
