hope them vtrax10r come out soon!!!! I have been holding off buying a new speedo. I have the motor now I need a esc to match it.
|
So I am interested in picking up one of these motors to try, but I am concerned with the really low Kv ratings. Comparing the 10.5T to a Tekin 10.5T there is 1400Kv difference:confused:
I understand there is much more to a motor than KV alone, but what about spec classes where gearing is often already at the limits of what will fit? I like the look, and I like that you guys are here helping racers, but you gotta tell me the numbers are VERY conservative or something. |
I can tell you with the viper motors you have a bit more room in gearing then with what you have now. I can honestly say the viper motors are hands down better then my losi and my novak. I had a novak 13.5 on my cougar and ran a 28 pinion, I swapped in the viper and used the same gearing and it was exact.
I had lower temps so I was able to bump up to a 30 tooth pinion and got a bit more speed out of it. all in all I will be running only viper for electric. I just recieved a 8th scale motor and will have everything installed in my losi tekno conversion in the next few weeks and will be testing them on 22 volts!!!!! cant wait! |

Typically the Viper motors Gear 1-3 tooth more then other motors of the same wind. in 13.5 buggy i ran 26/75 in ae b4 i now run 26/78 and my car feels the same. but my motor is more efficient on bottom end, And smoother through the whole power band. |

I geared up 3 teeth thinking...wow I would never try that with any other motor and ran hard for 6 minutes both 17.5 and Truck was a blistering 88.5 and SCT was 101.8 lol.....I am now waiting on smaller spurs because I had no more room to gear up anymore.............Come on SPEEDO's...I am loving the new motors ..what a difference:tire::tire:

After the Snowbirds is when everything should be fully released
Do have a question though on the ProGuage. I believe I saw earlier in the thread, that the plan was to include the ProGuage, I was wondering on what? With the ESC's, or only packaged in with ESC and motor combo's? Our local track is under construction, so not in a major rush so I've been holding off on getting motors, so I could get a combo. Or even if the plan is to offer combo packages? |

So, ah, couple days after the Snowbirds, any new news? (even if it means later?) Waiting on ordering 2 10.5 VST's, a vtrax10, and a vtrax10r :D.
Weylin will update the thread when he gets back online! |
