Well if there's a stock class then that's a good starting point, that's 17.5. If it's just open then I'd go with a 13.5 or a tad lower.

I am buying a Blitz ESE to start with and will be running outdoor medium tracks (one has a long straight). I would like to try a Viper motor, and am wondering which one I should be looking at. It will be working with a MMP that I have sitting on the shelf right now.

The best thing to do is get with the track where you are moving to and see what classes they have for SCT either Stock/Mod/Open...then ask what classes they have and what the motor limits are and just ask what wind motors they are running...Some tracks are different...The nice thing about this hobby is there is always someone who will help you.

Great job, Steve! Please remember to send a race report to Nick Malato, your new regional manager. We can get an update posted on Facebook and hopefully the website.

For everyone following Viper's progress, the website is undergoing some adjustments right now so we have limited updatability at the moment. Right now the most frequently updated news source (aside from RCT) is Facebook. Thanks!!

I haven't raced it yet, but I did put a pack through my XXX with the 13.5 in it. First half of the pack was a little slow, but then it really started to loosen up. I actually had to work to keep the front wheels on the ground  And not to mention, it's sooo smooth. I guess thats just me reacting to my first sensored bl system, but still very nice motor, can't wait to get it on a track. I'm pretty sure this will turn on at least a few guys at the track to your products. 2 thumbs up from me.

Ok, I have been reading all through this thread and although there seems to be some that went to the snowbirds, I would like to know how the Viper products faired against everything else. Right now I have run just about every ESC out. I will say that Novak is pretty close to the top of my list for ESC's right now. However they are not killing it like the Tekins are. Just about everyone in a boosted class is running the tekin. In non boosted seems to be a larger variety however that is also dominated by tekin. So my question is how did the motor speed control combo fair in on road.

Dlewis4 02-14-2011 06:37 PM

Working on finding our results for you, but they did very well

Congratulations to Viper team driver Peter Robinson on his 4th place A-main finish at the 2011 Snowbird Nationals in 1/12 GTB 17.5! This class was full of factory drivers and the competition was tight.

Steve Downs on his A main 5th place finish in modified oval 1/12. Had Steve not been punted in the start he could have finished much higher!

Viper team driver Patrick Morehead also piloted ...his 10R5 to a 2nd place finish in the pan car figure 8! Figure 8 racing is definitely here to stay. Braap!

I believe their were a few more as well....
