We made the decision early on not to let boost and reverse play with each other -- just way to many possibilities for issues......

I have been thinking of trying a VTX8, are the boost and punch settings the same as the VTX10R BE?

VTX8 manual is not up on the website yet (if you need a soft copy PM me your email address), it will get posted when VLink is completed, and posted, when I have an update I will let you know. These software/web guys want everything perfect --- so do we!!! :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:
Got everything wired up in what used to be my Traxxas Rally.. its now my 4x4 SCT race truck. VTX8 is HUGE! very nice though. I got it to fit with the pro4 without much troubles.. 550 can might be a bit tight without removing the waterproof RX box. whatever. EDIT: Profile 3 is the one I want right? for 4 pole tekin pro 4 on 2s? Looks awesome setup was simple( i have vtxr 17.5 so it all works the same mostly )..going to go play with it on the track this weekend. http://ktmdirtface.smugmug.com/photo...-hFQW44p-L.jpg http://ktmdirtface.smugmug.com/photo...-BPXWcCN-L.jpg http://ktmdirtface.smugmug.com/photo...-ZNxPDHc-L.jpg |

Bob you have one of these motors in testing? Id like to see it if I could just curious. Ill have to catch up with you at the Hut some time. Id also would like to see how the set up box looks and how easy it is to hook up.

KTM - nice job with the set up!! Yes Profile 3 is where you want to start, maybe turn punch down to 60 to start. Just be careful of the gearing at first until you know where its at temp wise -- not a big fan of that motor.......
On that note I will be politically correct and say that we had some really good results with some testing over the last couple could days and have some stuff that is moving in the right direction. And Bob was right---- we are going to let everyone know what its available. To answer an earlier question, the VTX8 software set up is very similar to the VTX10 series. With added control for motor poles and rotation. |
Thanks I will mess with the punch. seems like it defaults to 80% in profile 3?
I'm starting with a 13tooth pinion and stock 54 spur. Before installing this I was using a Sensorless Toro 4600KV setup with same pinion and never broke a sweat in temp and had way more power than i needed. I just felt like trying sensored out hah :) "Not a fan of that motor" What other 4 pole sensored motors is there? I'm not seeing any if you guys had one I would have got one lol. |

If you need help with VTX10 based stuff in 2wd mod / stock or 2wd SCT in mod / stock, let me know and I'll link my setup sheets. Just please send me a PM so I don't forget. Work's been crazy lately so by the time I get home, my brain is mush :D If you need help with another setup, you can message me too and I'll check with the rest of the team for feedback and I know Nick has been working on getting this onto the website but that's still a work in progress. |
