Robby, I apologize if I missed this somewhere but did you try a different motor with speed control? Try that motor on your older 10R and see if it all reacts the same.

Watching the video makes me think motor problem.

Apparently it was the battery, possibly not enough discharge? (30C) I put a 60C and it came alive bigtime. I've never had that issue before, guess these vipers are power hungry

Glad you got it resolved!

Make sure your other settings like start and finish rpm are something like start 5000 an finish 9000 with 30 degree acceleration timing. Maybe only 15 top end timing to start. If the settings are right and you don't have any acceleration timing motor may not have enough torque to hit top speed timing and cut out. Let us know how it goes.

Got a few questions about progauge and vlink ide like to clear up.
After saving changes to a profile with the progauge you have to unplug it and go back to run mode before loading another profile correct? Do you also have to shut it off or can you just go back to link mode and reconnect then load another profile then unhook it again and go back to run mode...ext ext before making changes to that profile. It can be a lot of unhooking the progauge and reconnecting sometimes and not sure if you have to turn the esc off in between which one youtube vid shows.

When using vlink does it eliminate all that where you can switch between profiles and make changes without unhooking the cable or turning the esc off? From what I seen the GUI of the vlink looks nice and im thinking about purchasing the pc link cable. Im also guessing you can use a longer cable then the 100mm usb cable provided.

My son and I ran a local club race today. Nothing big, just the local boys having a race day. But anyway, we are both running the Copperhead systems in our SCTEs. His is the 4500, mine the 5150. He was TQ and I was 2Q. I led 9 min 45 seconds of the ten minute main, and he got by me in traffic on the last lap... But, the copperhead systems are awesome for $150! I recommend anyone looking for a budget, but competitive, race system pick one up.

Yes they are, I did some testing of them and I was really surprised on how smooth they are for unsensored...

I went to the track today and the 19t pinion with the 87 spur was perfect. As hot as it got even with a full pack was 140 or a tick over.
Does the esc start to slow the truck down when it gets near the 6.4v? Just wondering cause it got pretty slow around 6.7 or so.

yes, I think mine is set at 6.4, and its noticeable when I get around 6.6 to 6.8 volts. it would probably be ok at 6.3 or 6.2. I may try 6.3 volts and see how much more time I can get from a run.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

I posted some pics on my blog from the race I attended yesterday. Had the chance to race with some new and old racing friends. The race was a success with eleven heats and some very close battles. I'm ecstatic to pull out the TQ and win in 2wd buggy with Viper VTX10 and Viper 13.5 turn

Thanks again for the smooth yet impressive power!

Sounds like your esc need to re calibrated.

Recalibrate the esc should work. If not, use your pro-gauge and make sure dead space is set to narrow. Also, it this is a somewhat inconsistent issue, ensure the motor wires with the bullet connecters are pushed firmly into the female connections on the ESC before each run. These may work out slightly causing a poor connection.

Let us know how it goes.
