Would I be better off use the copperhead 4500 system or the 5150 in an SCTE? I run on a large indoor track.

When using the default load outs 1-3 race blinking mode, I have to peg the throttle just to barely clear any jumps on my local track, which is relatively small indoor. If I use load out #4 in race open mode, the truck feels more like what I would have expected, but then I still cant understand why the other trucks in my stock 17.5 class seem to blow me away without being in open mode.

Additionally, if I want to use practice mode, so I can access reverse, I'm back to having horrible performance with un-modded motor settings. Why cant I use boosted settings and have reverse?

Andy help would be greatly appreciated...!
def your gearing like bob said. When I ran the 22sct with a 8.5 I was using a 22 pinion lol

mandible - at the SC Nats a few months back we were running 75/28 or 29 with the SC10 - which I think is the same ratio as the TLR. In blinky mode if you to feel more torque you can move the throttle curve up EXP+1 or +2

You can not run boost with reverse. Early on we found a few people hurting the units running reverse - then the boost kicks in - not good.

Gabriel Galeano won the 1/8 E-Buggy Open at the Track. The VTX8 and Viper motor took his Mugen to the TQ spot and win in the A Main by a lap!!!! Gabriel won a few races with the VTX8 while we were testing - so its great to be able to brag about his wins now that the VTX8 is released!!!

Have a Viper VTX-10 speed controller...

Took a crap on me... new out of the box. 1 week of use. This is the 2nd one from Viper.

Would it be a good idea to upgrade to the Black Edition from Viper or just move on to a different brand?

What's the biggest difference between the VTX10R, VTX10 Black Edition and VTX1? Which one is the "best" for offroad 1/10 2wd/4wd mod?

Send it in for warranty. I doubt the issue is the esc. One thing I have not seen hardly at all on this thread is dead esc's. More information about what temps your running, what car and gearing, what motor might help. Send it in for repair for sure if it is truly dead.

I recommend the Black Edition for everything 10th (VTX8 for 4wd SCT). The reg version is fine for 2wd buggy, truck, and SCT. The 'R' is where you want to be if you run 4wd or Touring or anything under a 6.5T (VTX1 for 1/12).

Just from talking to the guys who have run both the reg (orange) and the BE, the biggest difference is the brakes. The general consensus is the BE has better brakes. Since I never ran the reg version, I can't say for sure.

So I would use this setup for your 2 vehicles
2wd Mod - VTX10 B.E. with VST 8.5T motor
4wd Mod - VTX10R B.E. with VST 6.5T motor

Thought it was motor initially...

SC10, Viper 13.5 motor w/ 87/23 gears. Motor never got too hot...

Bought the combo from a friend.. Is the warranty still valid even though I am not the original purchaser?

I would have your friend warranty it with the original receipts. That gearing seems of. How much boost and timing were you using?

The friend who sold me the 13.5 and ESC, new in boxes, is being a douchnozzle and refuses to send the ESC in for a replacement - the combo is less then 3 months old with roughly 4 or 5 races. (He had some issues previously and Viper did replace the system for free with no issues and he sold the combo to me!)

Advanced timing 35 (never went over)

Boost starts at 7000RPM and finish at 35000RPM

Had Protection setting On...
Motor Temp cutoff was 220
ESC Temp cutoff was 220

Thanks
