there is no better feeling then knowing you can change your set up trackside!!! the pro-gauge makes adjustments on the spot a cinch!
i love viper products, and their staff that stands behind them!

I'm definitely going to give one a try. I'm very experienced when it comes to rcs so I'm sure I will love the ability to tune it trackside. I normally use my laptop with the tekin and brushlesshobbies software loaded on it to tune my stuff.

I am also thinking about picking up the techno 4x4 truck. So the new viper esc does look appealing to me. One question though. Why are none of the Viper esc's dual mode? (Sensored/sensorless). I personally have never used a sensorless motor, but i was curious.

+1, would like to see a feature similar to castle's "smart sense", where the motor starts off sensored, then goes sensorless after it gets going.

You can tune the Viper ESC's on a PC, but everything you can do tuning wise can be done on the proguage.
The only reason to get the USB link is to do software updates. Mine was still A19 when I bought it, and they had just released A55, I did the software update, and I got huge power gains!

Got a issue. I traded a viper vtx1 to a guy on here. I only ran it in a 2s application but it is not working for him in 1s. When he plugs it in to the pclink it says that it is a vtx10. Anyone have any idea how this could happen. I am at a loss.

flashed the wrong firmware?

njnewc 01-01-2013 02:12 PM

Is that possible? Can u re-flash firmware?

njnewc 01-01-2013 02:52 PM

Hate to be a pain but I really want to get this figured out. Is it possible to flash the wrong firmware. If so how to u flash the correct firmware?

Thanks. Tim

wanna say thanks to team driver Gabriel G. today. He explained everything on the pro gauge to me. And then set it to the settings he suggested. The vtx10 and 8.5 worked perfect and was butter smooth and was hardly even warm after about 10 min worth of running.

Yes, use the VLink software for the VTX1 on the VTX1 page on the website.

The reason it won't run 1s, if flashed with the VTX10 software, it only recognized 2s. While the parameters are the same the VTX1 added 1s capability.

Maybe he's running the VTX10 version of the V-link ?

Thanks guys. Hopefully flashing with the correct firmware fixes it.
