Hi all
Complete newbie to programable esc Coming over from 17.5 blinky and any help on a start up set up would be great. I have the VTX 10 black edition. Will i need a viper pc link or can it all be done on the pro-guide. (told you i was a newbie) Many many thanks  For got to say will be a thunder power or a tekin 13.5 |
Hi Justchris-
Welcome to Viper. You can do all the adjustments on the Proguage so there is no need for the PC Link unless you want more visual User Interface For 13.5 blinky, here is a good starting point ESC Parameters Leave everything stock and change only the Throttle freq edit***8000hz and the Throttle punch 100% Drag brake is up to you and the size of the track, also 13.5 motor should be geared around 4.3 for larger tracks and 4.5 for small technical tracks. A 17.5 motor should be geared 3.8 for larger tracks and 4.0 for smaller tracks. Endbell motor plate timing @ 45 degrees. That should be a good starting point. If you have any more questions let us know. Enjoy your new system

It allows you to connect to a computer if you want and update firmware when needed.

Is there a way to set profiles back to default using the proguage?

re-flash the software via VLink - or see instruction manual, to see stock settings.

There are several factors that can contribute to ESC temp other than just timing. As Nick said, if you are under geared you can actually get the ESC hot.
First. Make sure you have the ESC temp setting set!!!!! I would set it at 170 or 180 degrees. But, things like Drive Freq, Brake Freq, Drag Brake, punch, etc..... all can get an ESC hot I myself tend to only run 80% brake or so, I find that once you have enough brake energy to lock the wheels on the strait-away, that you can turn it down. It helps keep from looping the car out when you get on the brakes. |
