Kid, the choice is yours, depends on budget. Both combos are fast, powerful, adjustable and have performance.
Can't wait to try the VTX8 I'll be ordering 3 of them for Buggy, Truggy, and SC, Quick question, is the RX output voltage adjustable like the VTX10?

Are you guys going to do the same 1 year warranty like the 1/10 scale stuff?

I really can't wait, I've been looking for something to try that will hold up to the rigors of outdoor 1/8th scale.

Hi all

Can you give me a hand to deal better with my controller

For the moment I'm setting the profile 1 no heating

I like self a DEX210 with combos VTX/8.5T

I have two crowns 87 and 81 with the pinion as 22/23/24/25/26

What would be a good report

I will participate in a race with indoor on carpet

Thank you for the help You to bring me

Nico.

I run the VXT BE and 8.5T in my B4.1 and run an 81t spur (you called it crown) and a 23t pinion. Not sure of the Durango tranny drive ratio but you may need to adjust slightly with the pinion. I have so much speed I have the throttle end point turned down to 85% otherwise I can't control it...but that is a driver issue not car/esc/motor issue. Comes off the track barely warm.

If you are talking about a adjustable BEC then yes...

Team C equipped with Viper vtx10/17.5 ran flawless. I tq'd and should've won last Friday in our first club race on dirt. I'm geared 75/29 in blinky and my car is the perfect balance of torque and top speed. our track is 75x50 outside dimensions.

Durango uses the same internal ratios as the 4.1. I know Fred runs pretty much identical gearing to me. Main difference is he prefers boost, I do not.

9.5T = 24/81
8.5T = 23/81
7.5T = 22/81

Stay in that range and you'll be good. Hit me up if you need some help and I will see what I can do.

I just noticed he is running profile 1. Switch to profile 2 and try that. Add in some drag brake. Maybe 15%. Start with that. Profile 1 may be a little too sensitive as it's meant for 17.5 blinky. Profile 2 is still blinky, it's just got smoother throttle settings.

I'm trying to find one of my B4.1 pics. It fits fine though.

I don't have any with the body off that I can find...

Here is one of my VTX10 in my B4.1 fits good, the caps are just as high as the battery not even close to the body.

The vtx10r is almost twice as tall as the vtx10 tho. that's why he is concerned.

Consider going with the Black Edition...the caps are not mounted on the top but rather on leads like the BH you're running now.

the vtx10r is like 4mm taller than the vtx10. But it looks like it would fit fine. Would there be a need for a fan in boosted 13.5 off road?

There is no need to get the r version for a b4. Just go with the regular vtx10, and no need for a fan.

thanks matt.

I was looking over the manual online. it looks like there are 8 preset profiles. And you can pick the profiles with the red button after holding for 3 seconds.

Things I am unclear on.
- What is required to connect the esc to the pc for tuning? pro gauge?
- Can the profiles be edited with the red button? or only with pc link / pro gauge?

I agree, I run a VTX10 in my 22sct with a 13.5 boosted. The ESC never comes off more then just above room temperature. Over extended runs I've had the ESC reach 140° after like 10minutes.
