Dan, I know before you said you didn't have a progauge - can you confirm what profile you are on? PM or email if its easier.

KTM - unlimited for 2 pole motors. When the VTX was designed three were no competition 4 pole motors. Check with that mfg to see the specs for that particular unit.

Ridge - VLink was mainly designed to be the upgrade interface with a computer when needed, we added the ability to change profile parameters because people wanted a more robust program. Our intent was to always keep the progauge or using the switch as the method to change the profiles.

I need a good pro gauge setup for a vtx10 esc with a fantom 13.5 motor. I don't exactly know what all the settings do. I read what they all mean I'm just not sure I understand yet. I'm a nitro guy getting in electric 1/10 scale. Racing a small indoor hard packed track

Best place to start would be to give some more information. What kind of car, battery, etc.....

The nature of Spec motor racing (17.5, 13.5) etc... is that you have to run the motors right on the edge to be competitive. Some guys will test and get it tweaked right to the edge of the envelope.

My recommendation, if you are running in a Mod class with the 13.5 motor, is to get a 8.5 or 10.5 motor. They will run much cooler and last much longer than the 13.5

Use the 13.5 boosted profile that comes w/ the esc, that's what I do. Then I adjust it to the track.

Nikos

Attended the JConcepts Summer Tour Rd.3 at Shiverville Racetrack in High Springs,FL. and had a Team Viper Driver "Matt Scott" update my VTX10 to the A55 Software, and must say i like the improvements that i received in the Main. Finished 3rd, but always good to have a Podium Finish!!

Dub, congrats. Glad you liked the update. We did a lot of testing to fine tune the improvements!!!

SC Mode!!!

Busy week getting ready for the SC Nats! Can't wait for this weekend. Hope we don't get a hurricane like last year!

Good Luck this weekend...

Tobz173 07-30-2012 03:40 PM

Good luck!

Do you know when the black edition will be available, will it be a separate part number or will just replace the existing?

nikos2002 07-30-2012 03:57 PM

I believe shipment was due this week. Black Edition ESC's will have their own separate part numbers. There are subtle differences between both the regular VTX and BE edition speed controls.

Tobz173 07-30-2012 04:05 PM

Those differences will be a bit more explained when they go on sale?

I don't want to go buy whats available now and see a better version released 2 days later.

Good luck this weekend. I'm done working on the truck for now, got the new bullets soldered up, and will be doing some testing tomorrow. Hopefully found the problem and have it fixed.

Knoxville, TN this weekend. Going for the gold at ROCCK racing. Great group of guys down there and can't wait to try out their new track. They have some photos posted at:

Tobz, we have already been talking about the differences.
- redesigned BEC circuit board with double the capacitor to handle voltage spikes
- concentrated design on only 2s applications.
- external capacitor lowers overall height of the unit to give it a smaller profile.

With that being said, all our new VTX units have larger capacitor boards and some updates to the BEC circuit that we learned while making the BE. The only other difference between the two is that the VTX is rated for 3s batteries, but only with higher turn motors (10.5-21.5).

Both also work with our new a55 software update as well!!

Getting more and more excited as we prepare for the weekend.

By the way, Mike Aliberti won the SC Nats Warmup race with his Viper powered XFactory SCX-60CF!!

I have a vtx10r in my desc410r with a vst 550 4.5. Its super fast and smooth but I am having problems with it cutting out when I land jumps. It happens about 2 times a race and steering works never cuts out. I have checked all my plugs I run 4mm soild bullets and I spread them open with a hobby knife and all my solder joints are good. It happens with all my batteries.
