Default VTX1

Does anyone have feedback on the VTX1 in 1/12th? Blinky and/or Boost?

Was it a new sensor wire or an old one? also check all your solder joints. If the lights are showing throttle progression it should be in the sensor wire or a bad solder joint on the motor.

Thanks. It was a bad connector on the sensor wire.

One word "Simple"!!! All you need to do is plug it in the receiver and your set. No more receiver packs to worry about. In blinky its just as powerful as any other system out there and in boost its incerdibly fast. We run on a huge outdoor track 140'x90 and the VTX1 boost parameters are the only system that can reach top speed down the straight TQ and win also helps

You mean Progauge? Sure it is good for all Viper esc's.
If you mean using say Hobbywing on a Castle or Tekin....no

Default Problems

So I purchased and installed the Viper VTX10 w/ VST10.5 a couple weeks ago. All seemed well and the setup and use of the Progauge was great. Heres the problem.

About half way through my first qualifying race, I would come off a large jump, coast a bit, grab the brakes and attempt to accelerate out of the corner. About 50% of the time the motor would not go... with a small push, it would work again great. This was intermittent and didn't present itself through the rest of the day. I ended up TQ'ing and winning.

So knowing I was losing a bit of time down the straight, I purchased the 8.5 vst, got it all setup, and hit the track. Again the problem came back, and got worse. When I would apply throttle, it would buzz, move forward like and inch and not move till I completely let off the throttle, then when I got back on, again a small "beeep" an inch, and no motor power. Would get nothing above 1/4 throttle. SO... like all frustrated people... I dropped the truck on the table, and before I took the body off, it worked again...

Also there are times that I push the power button, and it doesn't always come on...

So heres the setup:

Profile #1 (Only changed it to Open Mode and not blinky)
SC-10 FT 20/85
5000mah/20 C LiPOs
I've run roughly 5 packs through it with the old motor (10.5) and only 1 with the (8.5).

I'm thinking there is something wrong internally with the speedo or switch, as it seems that the issue is only caused on impact. I have checked all the connections, replaced the sensor wire, even took the endcap off the motor and sprayed it out with some motor cleaner (electric type). Our track has superfine dust...

Ultimately it looks like I will have to send it back, anyone else have similar issues (I see above that someone else does), know the cause, or something that might have been done during installation to cause this?

The profiles are saved in the ESC itself not the pro-Guage. The pro-Guage simply allows you to change the ESC settings. So you can use the pro-Guage for Multiple viper ESC's.

So little update. I put the 10.5 back on, seems to be operating ok on the bench, but won't be able to tell till I get it out on the track. The 8.5 feels rough, so I probably f'ed it up when I took the rotor out to spray out the dust.

Stirex - I did have an issue one time where it would feel like it would shut on and off - the sensor wire was loose on the ESC side (yes, it started after a big tumble crash). I would also check to see what your temps are set at for protection. Remember to reading is inside the motor not on the can, so the temp setting is higher. This could also make it cut off until the temp lowers.

always triple check solder joints (even on the battery or any plugs you use), crash hard enough they can come loose also.

let us know how it works. If you need to send it back, there is an RMA form on the Viper website.
