pretty sure I saw some other names in some A's that run Viper stuff, but I want to wait until its verified to be sure.

Also want to send a great shout out to Royce Berrio for putting it in 3 A Mains (4wd Mod, 2wd Mod and SC Mod) at the 1st Critters Trophy race in NJ. There were some big NE factory hotshots at the race.

That's great. Way to go Billy and all. Rayn Lutz is stupit fast with his 4x4 and if Billy beat him. All i can say is WOW.

Is the modified profiles on the esc as smooth as the LRP? Planning on a 8.5 and I don't find the Tekin's I have that smooth running modifieds. Thanks.

Long time since I've seen you. I'll def have to back up Nick on his comment. I ran the vtx10 back to back with a LRP and it's actually a tad bit better. of course just my opinion. Plus you don't need a laptop and you can do finer adjustments with the Viper then you can the LRP.

So, go Viper and you won't have any problems and be happy with the performance.

Any recent news on when the one cell esc will be for sale?

I have had only a short time with my new SC104x4, and the Viper VST 550L motor. I used this combo this past weekend in the 2011 Georgia Championship Series Finals. The finals were held in Loganville, GA. The track was just totally changed a week ago, and suffered alot of rain during the week, and more during saturdays qualifiers, but it held up well and for mains it was grooved and high traction, oh and they weather was very hot as well, pushing close to 100 degrees. The Viper VTX10R and 550L motor ran flawlessly all weekend. I am still trying new things with the truck to make it better, and it does keep getting better. In Quals I had a 2nd, 2nd, and 1st. I started 4th on the grid for the triple A-Mains. A1 I had a good run but made some costly mistakes and ended up 5th. A2 I had a very rough start, ending up next to last at end of first lap....battled my way back to finish 5th. A3 I had a strong start and battled for 3rd for a long time, and with 2 minutes left I started pushing much harder and managed to finish 2nd. We had a tie for 3rd overall, and the tie breaker put me 4th, only missing 3rd by under 3 seconds. Overall for the 2011 Series Points I was able to bring home 4th. Not a bad finish to the series. The VTX10r never got hot and never faulted me, as it never has since I started running Viper esc's. The 550L is a little overgears, running a little boost, and even on a hot day, after 10min, it was just over 150 degrees and never showed any lack of power or speed. The track had 2 long straights where the 4.5 motors did shine over my 5.5, but the 5.5 still hung strong.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been eyeing the Viper since I first seen it announced so I'll probably give it a try in the new 2wd mod I'm building up.

VTX1 one cell esc

Will the VTX1 1 and 2 cell esc have an unsensored default mode programmed into it in case the sensor harness pops out, or a sensor board goes bad, etc., during a race?

esc help

Hope someone can help . I installed the vtx 10r in my scte . Linked the rx to the esc everything seems fine except the motor will not respond at all . Im running the castle 3800 , Ive got it to twitch a couple times but that is it . Also is there supposed to be solder between the - post and the capacator - ?

The castle motor is a sensorless motor. To my understanding the vtx series is only able to run sensored motors at this time. Like I said this is my understanding, and things may have changed without me knowing. Hope this helps.

Kind of a big surprise after dropping $200 on one and the design team left out unsensored operation capabilities isn't it?

I just dont see why anyone would buy a sensor only 1/10 only esc for that kind of money.
