so basically the board just went bad? if its not the soldering?

I couldnt say until I inspect it. If it won't turn on chances are you just need to send it in. We will have replacements ready next week. So if you decide to warranty it, do it soon. I know how hard it is to not be able to run due to failure. It happens with every product out there, We are trying to make the products as bulletproof as possible. But sometimes things happen. I just put my 10r in my losi 4x4 and cant wait to get some good laps in with it.

Might be the best option, If you want sent it with the wires and we can solder them in for you. Plug and all will be returned with the new unit. When you fill out the rma form note what happend and that you would like the wires resoldered and that you spoke to me online. Then all you have to do is the motor soldering. We will get you all taken care of, no worries.

Do these ESC's whistle/whine/squeal at very low speeds?

Can't do a noisy ESC, myself.

My 10R and 5.5 is whisper quiet. Not silent but quiet. It is the smoothest combo that I've run yet.

I've been running that 17.5 setup that was listed a page or two back in my XXX-SCT and have been diggin' it for sure! I'm running the 25/78 that Weylin recommended for me, and with that setup listed above it's been good.

However, I'm thinking of trying the VST 13.5 I've got. What kind of gearing and/or ESC changes (VTX10) should I make?

Thanks for the help! Been LOVING the Viper gear.

A buddy of mine was running his new Viper speed controlers and motors with his truck and SC and I must say I am impressed at how good they are. I was skeptical at first since people were discussing issues, none here. I guess soldering is very important on ultra high current systems.

I run hobbywing ESC's which are fun to program, but these things take the cake!!! I mean so many adjustments to play with, brings out the geek in me.

Looks like the new ESC/motor to beat is Viper.

I used to run for HW, Viper system has much smoother power delivery, great programing options!! And yes, soldering is important for all the high current systems.

Got a question on a VTX 10, the neutral light (green) flashes quick with beeping alarm. I'm guessing it is serching for neutral after I turn it on.Sometimes, if I flick the trigger to brake, it works. Any tips or adjustments?

Could just be throttle trim. Try backing the throttle trim and see if it works.
