i use a 2271 in my 1/8 buggy and the 6.0v bec works it fine.
it is so fast it looks fast watching it on my slo motion videos

Hey have you all ever experienced a servo just losing motor torque. I just bought a 2271 for my throttle, I installed it set the endpoints, went to the track to practice and the motor just lost torque. There are no stripped gears just the weak motor. I am running a sr3300t reciever and a lipo reciever pack

some times u can get glitching when your transmitter is too close to the reciever. if you try moving back from the car a bit and it still does it u need to make sure rx battery is a good battery and has enough charge in it to make sure.

if you have a fully charged battery and it is ok (not faulty battery) and you arnt too close and still does it then thats the last resort in being the servo at fault i guess.

hi just wanted to get some of you guys opinions on this i have tried the hv servos with lipo etc and also tried the 6 volt with the 1258 tg servo in my 1/8 buggies which seemed ok however the hv servos seem to draw alot of power and i am wanting runtime. im now using li-ion 7.2 v battery with regulator to get longer run time. and i like the fast steering response of the 6 volt 1258's and 1257's

im just wondering is the 1258 savox servo enough torque (12kg)for steering a 1/8 buggy or would i benefit from a higher torque steering servo? ive never really run a higher then 12-13 kg-cm torque servo in my steering.

whats you guys experiences with these. and did going higher torque give you more consistent steering? the thing is here if i go up in torque usually i lose speed and i dont like a servo i have used before in a hitec 5645 mg servo with speed of .18 seemed sluggish so i guess its a compromise of everything using 6v with li-ion for the run time. and a fast response of 0.08 with and be in mid range torque levels of 12 kg-cm with the 1258.

Installed sc-0251 yesterday and it fried my mamba max pro. Great servo for the money but was told by a castle tech you need an external bec.

I use a 1258 on steering, have done for 3 years and no problems, more than enough, especially with todays lightweight buggies. In a truggy it won't be enough.

Everyone uses the 1256 normally on steering, but I find that extremely slow in comparison to 1258, I mean there is a big difference between 0.08s and 0.15s! Try the new Brushless serves 227X? if you want high speed but even more torque.

SAVOX Warranty
 

Has anyone had to use the warranty program with a recent SAVOX servo? I ask because I sent off a servo to Hitec and one to SAVOX the same day two weeks ago for warranty repair and I received my Hitec back last week.

Joel and I have emailed beack and forth a couple times, but I am slightly concerned with how long it takes to get a resolution from them.

Thoughts?

From what I remeber, as it has been about 6 months, it took about a month to get mine back. I would say you are a week to 2 weeks out from getting it back unfortunately.

so ive been doing some reading and come to the conclusion that the SC-1258TG is the servo of choice for th/b in 8th nitro off road and all round for nitro onroad just would like to know is it up to the job for steering in nitro 1/8th buggy or should i just got the SC-1268SG witch will do both buggy and truggy cheers Ashton

I run a couple of the 2271s and REALLY like them. So fast on hi-voltage, and unbelievably strong. It's worth it to me. I usually spend more once. Then keep the parts for a looooong time though.

What size servo horn screw is used I have one thats almost striped out and need to replace it.
