thank you. I must've missed that servo. I ended up getting a 1257TG. for now.
Haven't driven the car but its quite fast from the bench test.

Can you tell me more about the voltage issue you mention. I know it doesn't apply bit I would like to know as general knowledge.

I believe he is referring to the issue of when the servo is pulling high current while the motor is accelerating this may cause the receiver to brown out and lose connection to the TX. Then when the current comes up again it h=has to go through the reset process. A capacitor stores a little amount of energy to fill in those gaps. Some RXs have a higher low voltage threshold than others specifically the Spektrums. I have no experience with Airtronics/Sanwa or Futaba.

Hey guys I was woundering what you all would suggest for a servo that would go good in the new losi 22t

The steering servo (1256) doesnt buzz when turned on in center position but the throttle servo (1258) keeps buzzing even when not using throttle or brakes.

Ive played with it for the last 3 hours, servo doesnt buzz but soon as i put horn on, it buzzles. Tried most the End Point Settings + Trim on the controller (airtronics m11x) and still no go.

Is the 1258 suppose to buzz/be noisey on nuetual position for a throttle servo??

yes because of the spring presure from the spring on you linkage... digital servos will always trying to find center.. with pressure on the servo horn from the spring the servo is just trying to find center..

Ohh Man, I hated to read that.. I was looking into that same servo for throttle, seems like a great price but that drove me Nuts with other servo's and i had one that would actually twitch slightly with the sping pressure on it.. DO all of the savox servo do that??

I havent had a servo from any manufacturer that didnt buzz a little in the throttle/brake position. My Savox hasnt twitched a single time but does buzz from the spring pressure as Jeremy stated. You cant hear it with the engine running anyways...:lol::sneaky:

Thanx for the info.. I use Hitec's currently and they dont buzz, I may just pick one of the 1258's up to try..

mine have buzzed from day one.. as jammin requoted it is due to the springs/rubber bands/brake spring causing this.. some servos are louder than others.. savox are just point blank loud..

carcrazy699 12-23-2011 04:47 PM

Edit Nevermind just got mine in the mail today. Looks like a nice servo.

LOL.. Thanx for the heads up.. maybe i will stick with what i got, There is something about a buzzing servo whenever my radio is on for any reason, trim, adjustments or pre race that drives me nuts & makes me think its just eating battery life

You guys are talking about the 1258's, why not try a 1267 or 1268. Or better yet the new 2270 or 2271 just an idea. I never hear my servos when my car is on the track!:D

When I use rubber bands on the carb as return spring my servos don't buzz.

I think more of the buzz comes from the spring that is on the linkage itself and not so much the spring on the carb. I myself prefer the piece of mind that the spring on the linkage offers... Id much rather have a little buzz than a linkage hanging up or some other unforseen issue...

What servo horns do Savox servos use? I have a bunch of different horns but none seem to fit nicely.

I seem to remember reading they were same as Futaba - 25t. Is that right?

Anyone recommend an alloy horn that fits nicely?

Cheers,
Scotty P.

You are correct. They are 25T spline, same as the Futaba. I use horns from AnswerRC-USA. VP Pro has some really nice and heavy built horns also.

Hey, guys. I just picked up a 1258TG servo for my FT SC10. I was testing the servo before installing it and I would get a "brown" out when the servo tunred to one side. Meaning the servo would stop turning and there would be a momentary power loss to the servo and receiver. I tried another receiver and the same thing would happen. Anyone else ran into this problem? I'm thinking I got a bad servo but want to be sure before I send it back to AMain Hobbies. Thanks!

Troy.
