Well I have blown through my second 2271 in 3 months. First one quit working same day I bought it and the replacement servo Savox sent me stopped centering itself today :flaming:

Looks like I am out a servo for another month while Savox tries to remedy the problem. Anone else having issues with the new HV line?

I have 2 of these and have had great luck so far. One did burn up due to over-voltage from the bec, but that's not the servo's fault. I'm also using them in a 1/10 ST, so it's not like the servo is working terribly hard.

ive beat the crap out of a hv savox 1268 for a couple months now with no problems at all. seems just as strong as when i got it. 347oz on buggy steering might be slightly overkill but i figure the stronger the torque the longer it should last :)

Do savox servos require 6 volts to functioning

gelshocker 09-09-2012 07:38 PM

I have a Savox 1258TG. Recently it won't center and car now points towards the right (need to add +20 left trim, used to be near perfect +2 trim when new). What parts would I need to order to fix the 1258TG? Thanks,

I know that its not recommended to run lipos with 6v servos but just wondering if any of you 1256tg/1258tg users are running them with a lipo without issues? The reason I am trying to see if it will work is because some of the racers I know have been doing it and I bought a regulator also two 2s lipo rec. packs at a awesome price but I get brown outs(I guess) with the Losi regulator/ Reedy 1600 2s lipo and my Savox 1256/1258. I can' afford to buy HV yet not until tax time but I would love to be able to use these lipos until then. Any info/advice would be great! Thanks!

They are advertised as HV. I ran a 1267 for a bit on HV, and was happy enough with it.

Just a quicky, currently building a new gas buggy with savox 1256/1258 servos. Needing a radio and a Spektrum DX2s has popped up at a good price. Is there still issues running this combo, or was it only in electric cars that there seemed to be glitching/browing out issues? It has a SR300 reciever.

Its a crap shoot. With the sr300, and a cap, you should be OK.

That tx/rx combo is trash, I used it in electric cause the price and I was getting brownouts and interference on the track, a cap won't work, I was using the 1258 servo, I currently use a mt4 tx/rx combo with the same savox with no issues at all, no cap needed either

Hi there.
I'm planning to run something HV soon.
Was looking to the Savox line (1267SG) but after all the comments in this topic I will need some advice before buying them. I was planning to use direct 7,4V Lipo. I currently use a Spektrum DX3R PRO with the SR3100 receiver. I also use the KO Switch. I run 1:8 nitro buggy.
Now my question is: will I have problems with this configuration?

Does anyone have info about max allowed voltage for Savox 6V servos? I have 1258 powered by CC BEC at 6.1V, works ok. Just curious about running it at ~6.5V? and do i really need this - how fast and strong it could be.

I ran a set of the 1267 and 1268 sg for almost 3 years now and they still work like a top. Just bought 2 of the new aluminum savox servos the sb-2282sg servos, 23 kilo of torque at 7.4 and .075 for speed. Has anyone ran these yet? I have a set of the aluminum futaba servos in my kyosho truggy not sure if I want to swap them out or put these in my new tki3.....

I've ran my 1258 and 1256 on a life battery which is 6.6 volts for three seasons with no issues what so ever.
