Gathering the info and will post later this as you know there will be alot .

So the official sellers are unknown, but the gray market(the only market) is not legitimate. Are you a reseller, distributor, wholesaler...............how can you get customer service from legitimate sellers that don't exist?

I know most people that sell things actually try to get product to customers, it seems like the gray market is better at business that the authorized sellers. Hobbywing must sell out the front door and the back door. They don't even list on their site where racers can but their product.

Hi Agno, thank you for sharing your ESC setup. I just installed my V2.1 120amp. It fits exactly on the TA05 tub chassis. I am using an old X11 17.5, copied your setup and will use as a starting point and just base on running it freely... WOOOOW truly night and day from just using my Cirtix Stock Spec. I will be doing testing at the Tamiya Track this weekend and I can't wait to see how fast thing goes. I will post my analysis after.

Ok, you try it, it if the straight is very long (more than 35 meters) you can also use a lower FDR (such as 6,3 / 6,5) always check the temperature of the engine (max 70 °)

I'm using a Xerun 60A v2.0 with a Losi 17.5T in my TA05R on a small carpet track, medium grip.

I started with the setup Hobbywing provided for 17.5, geared at FDR 4.8 (which was what I had with the 10.5 / GTB combo on the outdoor track).

It went well, temps never got too high, but it looks like most folks using 17.5Ts use higher FDRs. I presume gearing is the first thing you need to nail down, then everything else follows?

I think this whole situation is due to hobbywing's deal with speed passion, not being able to sell in US market or at least advertise as such. Correct me if I'm wrong. What matters is we still have choice as consumers and it is really up to us to make that small effort to look for the better product. As far as warranty goes, only hobbywing should have the last say, and I don't think that is a problem. Hoorah for free trade!

So if you bought a brand new speed control from company XYZ and it burned up the first time you used it and HW charged you extra to fix it because you bought it from a "non-approved" source you would be ok with that?

I tend to doubt that.

As long as mine works when I get it I'll be happy I guess. Sounds like I'll be on my own if it goes bad or has a problem.

Very strange, I used the 508 on both my Xerun 120 and the status LED flashes red each.

Have you recalibrated the ESC to your radio?

The light isn't very bright, and it's a little higher up so a little more difficult to see.

HTH

While on the subject, I'm planning on running zero timing this weekend and could do with some advise on a suitable FDR. The motor is a GM13.5t with a 12.5mm rotor. Any help would be very much appreciated.
