Whats the controller to go for at the moment and from where in the uk? Running mostly 13.5 (maybe sometimes 10.5) boosted touring.

Also do the controllers come with a pc lead?

hobbywing setting help!

hi guys. I am using HBW 120A v2.1 with 10.5t motor (211 software). My track furthest stretch is about 150feet. I am new to this boost effect. Any recommended fdr and boost setting?

What motor are you using?

For 10.5 and 13.5 I'd recommend the extreme stock. So far it's been faultless and very fast. The esc doesn't come with pc hookup cables so get the pro 2in1 lcd setup card and this allows you to do everything.
Look up racers in exile or giantcod in the UK.

Very pleased with the 2 units I have so far. Easy to program and adjust parameters and you can notice the difference in performance.

Thanks. They are on their way

Is there a 'How to' anywhere in this thread for setting one of these up? And does any one know what the safety cut of temperature is?

150 is pretty long, depending on how much tight stuff there is and what brand of motor, probably need a bit more info.

if its a hobbywing 10.5 i'd think you'd want to gear it FDR at arond 5ish. a speed passion maybe more like 5.5-5.8.

I ran a 8.5 for just a couple of laps at our local gas track awhile back,

ran punch on 7
boost 35
turbo 30
acc 350
turbo slope 18
delay 0.4
start RPM 8000

motor brand and type will play a big part mate and also the rest of the track etc

cheers

there both the same but there will be a new version in 15 days with more brakes .

Hmm...I re-flashed my ESC yesterday with the zero_rev with much excitement to test out the FW, but I strongly believe that the "rev" is meant "reversed" in this case? My motor was running backwards, no matter what I do to my throttle setting (NOR/REV) on the Tx..:weird:

Thanks Angelo, can't wait for the new FW and new V3 ESC!

brakes?!

hi guys, i used the 120A for a LRP 13.5T x11 race with the 211 stock software. top speed and punch were really good. but i had no brakes!! seems like the lrp motor has a very weak magnetic field so the brakes coming from the software are way to weak. i did run a 4.5T sp v3 also with stock software the other day and it had super brakes. so it must be the motor. you guys have any idea if or when a new stock software will be released and if the brakes are being worked on? thx

Hi,
I flashed my xerun 1s with 508 for 10.5 blinky mode in my 1/12th scale this weekend. The firmware works pretty well apart from no led flashing at neutral to indicate blinky mode active. I reflashed the controller again twice to make sure but still no led. Anyone else had an issue with this?

Silly question, but have you re set your handset to the speedo after updating the software ?

Hi Angelo can you answer a question please
using 211 stock does setting the turbo delay to off just allow the amount of turbo to come in straight away or does it actually turn the turbo feature off<
If it allows the turbo to come in straight away what is the difference between the "off" and the "fastest" setting?

I have heard it suggested that on 211 the turbo delay should be set to off hence the question.
I am running 21.5T (as per the posts above)

?????????

Turbo delay Off means the turbo is not off but Just means the turbo will come on straight away once full throttle is achieved so there will not be any delay before it cuts in .Once the start rpm is met ,turbo slope starts to ramp up the turbo is always on just there is no delay for it to come on especially on long back straights were delay is essential .

Hi Chris,
Yes I have both times I flashed it but still no blinky led at neutral

Angelo, will you attend FEMCA next week in Sydney? Will be good to get some set up advice for the massive Whalan track where i expect our HW and 17.5 motors to be pushed to the max. It's interesting to hear you say how delay is essential on big tracks. Do you have settings to suggest? Heres a pic of what awaits us :D
