Does anyone know what version of the mod software is best suited to 2wd buggy...I've been told that v3 is more suited to TC, while the older v2 is better for off road.
I know this is the STOCK thread, but thought someone here may know a thing or two re: MOD. |

By rollout I take it you mean gearing? What motor and what gearing are you running. You are going the right way but have you increased the slope as well or are you running 518 stock?
This is for a 13.5 Ballistic motor and here in South Africa we run this class on foams. So we use rollout or mm/rev since the foam tyres are always getting smaller as they wear down. I usually target a roll out of 26mm-27mm depending what pinions I have. I find that to get the turbo to come in earlier (at roughly 1/3rd down the straight) I need to drop down at least 3 teeth on my 48 pitch pinions, but then I am quiet a bit slower down the main straight. I am running the latest stock software = 211 By slope you mean turbo slope? I have that set to 24 degrees. My Boost slope/AAC is set to 250, anything lower and the motor temps are getting above 80 degrees C. |

I really need this 213 software. On my local track I find that the turbo isn't coming in quick enough down the straight and the I am being out accelerated at the start of the straight. The best I can get, after trying various changes is to get the turbo to kick in about halfway down the straight. Some of the settings I have tried to try and get the turbo to come in earlier... DDRS maxxed out. Less boost timing. No turbo delay. Lower ACC setting. Lower rollut. So... can someone please point me too, where I can get hold of the files Angelo mentioned above, and also a quick "how to guide" to get the 213 software onto my ESC, so my turbo will kick in after the full throttle delay and not wait for all the boost to be used up first. Thx :-) |

Can you post some details of gearing esc setting motor etc... if you feel the need to use turbo so early it seems like something is off to me. trying to overlay boost and turbo will have a side affect of generating lots of heat. That was why I thought 211 was brought out to stop overheating issues.
:-) 81 Spur on a 24 pinion with a internal ratio of 2.055 (416 WE) 13.5 Ballistic motor is set at 15 degrees endbell timing. ESC settings vary due to all the different options I have been trying. |

as already mentioned, yes do so at your own risk.
earlier this year I was running a 5.5 with a 120 Xerun, and I ran 119 stock and had it going quite well. boost at about 10, turbo 8-10, 10,000 start rpm, 7# punch 350acc 18 slope. I got silly and wound 20 degrees boost and about 25 degrees turbo and went great for a lap. motor didnt get over 40c but ESC fried after 3 laps. so I'd say keep the settings moderate and you're good. don't get tempted to up them too high, if you need more HP go a lower wind. cheers :) Were you able to tell the difference in performance when you had your boost settings vs. stock settings? I run outdoor shortcourse 4x4 on 1/8 scale track. It's a fast track. You think it's worth it playing with the boost to get a little bit more performance out of my motor? |

ORIGINAL PHOTOS OF THE V3 PROTOTYPE
3 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys
I have attached the original photos of one of two prototypes the first proto is being track tested in China as we speak . It does have it's decals and graphics missing but like i have said in the past the unit is smarter, smaller, new software plus a soft switch with build in led's including a new style heatsink for all axis airflow plus the new programming method that doesn't violate any patents of any brand;););) . I have no confirmed date of release but im sure it wll be soon as all the work is now complete just need to get into mass production now . Hobbywing is very serious and committed to bringing its customers the best of the best .Management would like to apologise for the time it has taken but we wanted the new v3 to be the best for our customers .Alot of you might have though why did we do all the work for other oem customers but not our own but to be honest behind the scenes there was alot going on with our design team that no one knew about and that i could not talk about but i always knew the V3 was always destined only for the Hobbywing brand . thank you for your patients. regards Angelo |
looks great! the power button is a great idea IMO.
I hope this comes out in red to match my photon. |

Can you tell us more about this new software? I assume the new software will not be backwards compatible with the current v2 platform? |
Yes, lack of an external power button will be very nice, never saw the point of having the power switch separate to the body, just another wire to get in the way.
