Are you using the 7.4V 2300mAh Intellect LiPo? How long do you find you get from a charge? I usually get around 10 hours if I leave the LCD light on constantly of about 14-15hours if I have it set to 30secs. I reset the battery run-time counter whenever I recharge so I can keep an eye on the condition of the battery. Are these figures normal?

Also, is it still important to make sure to be disconnecting the battery once finished using the Tx for the day? I know it used to be extermely important to do this a few years ago when LiPo's first started getting popular but is it still the case?

After using a few of the other Racers' radios, I'm interested in an M11x.

I'm currently running Futaba's 3PKS and the difference in feel is noticeable. I especially like the smoothness and pull of the throttle.

Is anybody aware of plans to replace this radio anytime soon? I'd hate to purchase and have a new one released shortly after.

its fairly new and i have not heard anything about a new one. they did come out with a new radio but its kinda like the DX3S radio so the M11x is still their best.

So I was going to grab one from Tower, but I've been holding out for a coupon better than $50 off.

Between yesterday and today, the price has JUMPED $240, to $643.

BS!

it should of never been 240 (should of used your coupon!!!! the M11 isnt even that cheap)... that would have been a great deal! i would of paid $240 and turned around and sold it for 300 fast! they are 380 on amain... but call tower and they will fix the pricing...

Folks, I used M11x today, feel good radio bit heavy thought

I used energizer chargeable 6 cells and approx after 60 minutes of use the battery died.

I am planning to go to LIPO or NIMH would like at least 4 hours of charge on my race day, please can you recommend me a good battery for M11x

I have to order online and do international shipment so please recommend things like charger and voltage converter if LIPO.

Thanks in advance.

lost_odeassy 04-08-2011 03:11 PM

Just saw warning about LIPO and fire hazards, so i will prefer non lipo battery, recommendations are welcome

rchoi 04-08-2011 03:25 PM

lipos are fine. there is a lipo for tx only with low discharge rating. if you prefer regular AA then go with sanyo eneloop.

Definitely 100% LiPo all the way. I used to run NiMH AA batteries in my M11x & there is just no comparison to using a LiPo. Like you mention, only 1-2 hours from alkalines or about 3-4 hours from rechargeables, depending on capacity. But with the LiPo I am using, an Intellect IP 2300mAh 7.4V 2s I can leave the LCD backlight on constantly & I get around 10-11 hours or 15-17 hours with the backlight on the 30seconds setting.

Also the weight of a LiPo is less than 1/2 of what 6 AAs weigh & that makes a really noticeable difference after 45+mins or racing. Really, for just $20 to purchase the Intellect 2300 from a seller on ebay called Dinball, you'd be absolutely crazy to go with anything else. There are other sellers with the same battery but the dinball seller is the cheapest plus they have free worldwide shipping. Do yourself a favour & enjoy the benefits of the 21st century.:D:nod:

I am using the thunder power soft case 1800mah pack. It is one of there G4 packs so i can charge it at 6c which is over 10 amps if required. I have only recharged it 3 times in the last couple of months and I am currently getting 6 to 7 hours out of a charge. What i liked about this pack is that it is only 25 grams lighter than the stock NIMH pack so the balance still feels very good.

Awesome radio. Well worth every dollar spent.
