No the m11 is only fhss2 and not upgradable to the X's fhss3. Your better of getting a spektrum module for your M11 or sell it to fund the much better M11X.

If anyone's looking for a Spektrum module for their M11, I have one and also 2 receivers which I've no use for since I've been using the M11x for a couple years now. Send me a PM if interested.

YeeHaww!!.........just upgraded from my old M8 up to a new M11X and got it today. Had to take advantage of the $339 deal at Amain and pick one up.

I'll be cruising through this thread reading up on this thing......but before i do , do you guys have any suggestions for a good outfit that makes wraps for this radio?

Or better yet, just buy the real deal, that being an LCD screen guard made specifically for the M11x.:p Costs next to nothing ($8.88 + $3.88 for worldwide postage) and works perfectly. I've had one on my M11x since the day I bought it, over 18months ago and the screen guard is still crystal clear, no scratches and not even the tiniest bit cloudy or even noticeable.

You can't go wrong with this screen guard. Highly recommended.:nod:

You can always use the LCD protector when you don't need the buttons.

You must be *extremely* unlucky because I've had the exact LCD screen protection clear sheet as shown in the pic in my post, on my M11x from the very 1st day I bought it, at least 18months ago now, and I've never even once noticed it was there at all, let alone not being able to see anything on the LCD screen unless the backlight is on.

Perhaps you bought the wrong LCD protector or you somehow managed to do something screwy when you installed the screen protector but the thing is just about literally invisible. And it was the same on my M11 for a couple years too, before I bought an M11x.

Really not sure what could be going wrong with yours - I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer and see what they say or if they at the very least send out a replacement to you.

This will sound weird but I need to ask you guys this.

I use VRC Pro a lot. I use the M11x with it for almost 1.5 hours per day. That works out to 11 hours a week. Is that kind of usage okay with this radio? My last radio's steering spring gave up after 120+ hours of use. It was a Flysky GT3B so I'm not super surprised.

So then, is it okay to put that kind of use on the M11x and expect it to last for years? If not, I might turn the usage down.

aaron125 03-10-2013 04:47 AM

With the M11x I doubt you should have anything to worry about but honestly, when referring to a $300+ radio, I wouldn't trust anyone who answers here, including myself, coz how are any of us meant to know with any degree of certainty? The absolute best thing you could do would be to contact Airtronics Support by directly emailing them with your query. They have awesome support, very quick email reply times and are never rude or answer in a way that makes the user think they're an idiot for asking whatever they're asking, no matter how simple or complex the question may be. Definitely get onto Airtronics support coz then you will have an answer you can absolutely, 100% trust and know is correct.

Would love to know what they tell ya, so please report back with their answer, if you don't mind.

I'll see what the airtronics guys say but I wouldn't trust them completely either. My best bet would be to ask team drivers who have used the M11x in all conditions.

I use the radio with immense care and I'm pretty sure it'll last long but I don't want to over use it.

EDIT: That extra half an hour in my calculations is for weekends.

I'm away from my house, but want to pick up a screen protector on my way home. Can anyone give me the actual size of the screen on the M11x?

iamahuman 03-15-2013 09:27 PM

12cm long (front end to back) and 7cm wide.(Handle to buttons)
