i'm trying to find out about this also..in air radios there is a switch for a dual rate 1 to dual rate 2 setting....but i dont know if its possible on this radio..

I got a nice and easy solution for you guys which might suit your needs... Just use the Starting Position setting, which is normally used to help start a nitro engine, by dialling in a certain throttle opening, to help get a bit more fuel/air and revs into the engine as soon as it fires up.

You could just put the setting to 100% and then every time you need to use it, just press the round, silver button on the front left of the TX. Then, say, at the end of the long straightaway, press the button again to allow the throttle trigger to resume control over the servo/ESC.

Hope that helps fellas. Lemme know how you go.

Yea and if you panic, the car is gone :D
There are always situation that require you to go off throttle. Unexpected bump, someone in front of you that does weird things, ...

Use some expo if you want more control in the infield. (and train you finger)

aaron125 01-26-2012 03:20 AM

I agree completely morgoth. I don't see the problem with just holding the trigger all the way, at 100% - it's not like it's SO tiring and there is a spring tension adjustment, after all. I just thought I'd see if I could help these guys out with their queries, but I surely wouldn't recommend it as a driving technique. And dedfinitely a good point about the expo, certainly helped me in the steering dept.

etivac13 01-26-2012 05:03 AM

i'm not going to use it for throttle but for steering... i have no problem of letting go of the trigger...:D

lewis4x4 01-26-2012 05:20 AM

Has anyone tried to tighten the trigger spring tension adjustment? As I am learning this sport, one thing I find my self doing is pulling the trigger too much too fast.

aaron125 01-26-2012 06:56 AM

For sure Lewis. The first thing I did after unboxing my M11x, before inserting a battery or turning it on, was to adjust the throttle and steering wheel tension settings to where I like them.

For the benefit of those who haven't used this type of tension control, the easiest way (for me) to know where to set the tension is to back it off, so I know what the least tension feels like, go to the other extreme, with full tension, give that a try and then go somewhere in the middle and start making final adjustments from there. That way, I know what the least and most tension feels like, so I know what my adjustment range is. Regardless, after a while, one gets a feel for what tension is preferred for the trigger and steering wheel and it's easy to set the tension from one TX to another.

Forgot to add, you should definitely be using the negative expo adjustment Lewis, it will help immensly with exactly the problem you describe as that's exactly what was happening to me, but with steering, not throttle. Once I dialled in the correct amount of negative expo, the amount of control and finesse went up by a huge amount and I definitely found it helped lower lap times as I didn't have to 'think' about how much to turn the wheel anymore, the car would simply steer where I wanted it to go and in the correct amount, not over-steering or under-steering (in the sense of moving the wheel, not sliding front or rear tires).

Hello guys!

I would like that pro drivers tell us what params are using in his M11X radio with electric 1/10 touring cars.
Do you use Anti-Lock Brake and Traction Control funtions?
Which with params?

I hope, tomorrow will receive mine, and I don't know if this params are used in electric touring cars.

Cheers!

Speed Mind

Does anybody have the Speed mind transmitter bag for the M11X? Not really wanting to go the aluminum case route and I found (sort of) this bag instead.

If you do how is the quality and were you able to buy it from somebody in the USA?

I can only seem to find them from Asia based hobby shops.

Thanks!

I use my old M11 SpeedMind bag and modified it slightly to fit the different placement of the aerial on the M11x. Only difference with the M11x bag is the shape of the foam inside.

As for purchasing, ye, I got mine for that Mushroom place in Hong Kong.

Speed Mind

Thanks for the input, anybody feel free to chime in if you know of a source in the USA. I know Stormer has some Speed Mind but not for the M11X. For about $30 with the fitted foam for the M11X and the faux carbon fiber shell and compact size I wonder why the hell nobody carries them in the states?

Cheers

Hi thanks for the info unfortunately my present location doesn't lend itself very well to making phone calls to the states. I'll shoot off some emails though and see if I can get somebody that carrys speed mind (there is one that I know of) to pick one up from the wholesaler and send it to my house.

Otherwise I'll bite the bullet and buy from a HK source and pick up a TX lipo since they are pretty much dirt cheap there too.

Cheers
