If you are worried just fit one of the new 2017 rods. Mind you I've never had a Novarossi conrod fail in any of my.21s both on and offroad. R7's and R4's.

Good to hear. I'll run mine until it breaks or I feel it's time.

Well to be fair you do need to change rods a little more often! I usually change after the first 2 gallons and then every 4-5 gallons thereafter. Waiting until it breaks is usually a little bit late...

That's not bad. I'll change it on over revved motors and heavy stop n go raced motors much more sooner than later. On regular bashers or speed run cars, I don't find it needed as much. Your interval is a safe bet, though. I'm doing some testing and will not change rods on a couple of my motors until they break. I wanna get an idea on what kind of life the rod will do.

Hi,
i just started racing nitro 1/10 again and have some questions. i run a TOP T-PLUS 12-3 engine. The rod that is recommended for the engine is 07604/1, would rod 07604 work? My favorite website only sells 07604. And then the bearings, im running steal bearings and what is the estimated run time? every 1 gallon? i read in the tread that i just should "feel" the bearings, but i just dont have the experience that is required. Im sorry if these questions have come up before but this thread is really big. love my nova :) |

Novarossi steel bearings will last a very long time if you are using a very good castor blended fuel. If you want you can change bearings once for every 2 conrod changes. |

The 07604 will work just fine in your engine.

Carburetor Question ?
Are there any difference in novarossi carburetor from one engine to the next ? ( mostly .21)
Are there any improvements for the newer 2017 engines ? |

Are there any improvements for the newer 2017 engines ? Improvements to just the 2017 carbs or do you mean the engines complete? The latest 21 Mito WC engines have new R4'17 rods which are made from a new stronger material. The Mito 5GT 21 has a new liner which is basically a 7 port liner with the 2 ports each side opened out into 1 square port making it a 5 port liner and supposed to generate more torque. |

Yes there are. Currently I believe there are 3 onroad carbs available. Some double adjustment and some triple adjustment.

I dont know to much about the 2 and 3 screws carb adjusting if one if better then the other. I have to do some troubleshooting with my PTA Tuned Flash that I have it seems not to hold a tune when running for more then 10 mins. |

Thanks Dan for your knowledge, I was just wondering on the carbs alone if for 2017 if there were any differences from 2016's and 2015's. I was reading that another company was talking about they new carb for 2017 that was an improvement with better fuel time and easier turning.

The carb could be drawing in air when it gets hot. You can also look at bearings in the engine that can cause havoc with engine consistency. |

I think the Novarossi carbs have remained fairly constant in the last few years. The main changes are usually to the spray bar length and bottom needle length. The carb throat is the same for the flash as the latest engines.

Yes, basically there are 3 carbs. The plastic one (most offroad), the 3 needle and the 4 needle. I think the basic design has never changed than only the placing of the main needle and the shape of the slide needle.

Many prefer the high and low speed needle carbs since they are easier to tune. I've had good luck on the ones that have the mid range center adjuster. It makes for fine tunning that's noticeable on bottom to mid, mostly accelerating, in my experience
