Both are great engines. The JP is the better one of them two but is not produced anymore but it will take all 35-plus-21 parts.

I drive the Nova 35 Plus 21 myself and i must say they are great engines. I have three of these on my MRX5.
The JP i have not seen in a long time. About five years ago they were very popular but now it has been a long time since i seen one of those. Seems like nobody is driving them any more. Which does not mean off course that they are bad engines.

Questions?? Long term affect of blowing a glow plug?

One of my friends is trying to sell me a nova 21 onroad motor, but the thing is his motor blew a plug and thus, left a small mark on the piston. Is this motor pretty much done, salvageable, etc? I need some reassurance here from you Nova experts. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

It's on the side. He tried to buff it out, but I don't know if that helps or not. I'm thinking that this may cause some loss in compression, hence the fact it may need to be re-pinched? Excuse my ignorance as I'm not too all familiar with this process. I guess my chances are if I were to buy it off of him that I would need to spend some extra money and send off to Rayaracing to be re-pinched? If yes, should I request light, medium or heavy tightness?

I've got an engine issue, that I need to solve. I have a Novarossi 28T5 that I am running in an OFNA GT8 car. At the Timezone race, was able to get the engine to work well (thanks to Paolo, Leon from NJ and others) but it would flame out after re-fueling. Car would go 10'. 30' and up to 75' but then would flame out. Plug looks great, running a 5 or 6 nova plug.

Someone said it was cold fuel on the rear bearing .... but not sure. I'm runnning 25/11 Byrons, it has just over 2 gals through it including break in. Re-sealed carb, new fuel lines ..........

Any thoughts, Need to get this solved

I would check the pipe for dirt inside that could be choking the engine. I had a problem like this and I changed engines, tank and it was dirt in the pipe from unburned fuel.

Unless your getting this engine dirt cheap. I wouldn't deal with the headaches of pinching and a scratched piston. Just my opinion

That engine costs $700+ new.
With that cheap price, you could also purchase some motrin or tylenol for your headaches too. j/k

In my experience small scratches on the exhaust side of the piston has little if any affect on the engine. I dont know about trying to buff it out; may do more damage than good

Other than glow pug element ever drop into combustion chamber.

Small and fine scratches on the exhaust side , is indicating dirty manifold and exhaust pipe.
